Ok thanks for replies. I don’t need anymore bumps in the road. I just stress out over small stuff.

This is one of those situations where the question can arise of whether or not to even report something so minor. Sometimes it seems like you stir up more trouble by reporting it then it’s even worth. My personal opinion is, it’s usually better to be honest and own up to your mistake, as you have done. Good for you, I respect people who make mistakes and own up to them, and learn from them.

As for your employer, I don’t know anything about them of course, but I have a feeling the message they sent you is just their standard response to every “incident.” I wouldn’t take it personal. Keep on truckin’!

Everyone has their days... especially starting out...

GOAL. Stay safe. Stay accident free as much as you can.

If you go the rest of your first year without any more preventable accidents you'll be fine if you wish to hop to another carrier. As far as your DAC... that's up to the company. I had a police report/ticket written so yes, that's on my DAC... considering you didn't... I'm not so sure.

So funny I never really truly appreciated the importance of G.O.A.L. until I actually got out here . . . .

No big deal. You know what you did wrong and you know how to prevent it next time. Don't let it get to you.
As for your company's response...they wanted to get your attention. They did, too..

This is stupid. Everybody has done this without threat of termination. You should bounce from that outfit as soon as you can, or else they'll hang you for the slightest infraction. It's a brilliant strategy. If they keep firing tenured drivers, not only do they save on wages but they can perpetually escape paying benefits to the revolving door of new hires. It's not you dude, it's this system.

@Ridgeline is a fleet owner. If he says not to sweat your situation, then don't sweat it. He's a hardass if his drivers really #### up.
