Then your company has failed you.

It is a staple issue on top of fuel card and other things when you are hired on.

Perhaps your company decided that is not worth the fleet wide costs anymore. Pictures or video any way you can get it.

I used to have a camera that streamed to my computer at home so even if it was confiscated I have the video in my possession. I'll have to find a replacement.

If the police were not notified then its considered in house incident. You may have to watch a safety video or take an 8 hour classroom safety session. Depending on your company. As for getting a job. Because you only have a year experience. You're somewhat limited to what carrie's you can apply with, but most carriers look for the type of incidents or accidents, aswell as the severity of the incident or accident and the monetary damage. But it sounds like you'll be just fine. This is the best time to look or apply to companies because we are in Christmas freight season and most companies relax their hiring requirements, because they're desperate.

I'm sorry this happened to you. But I'm glad nobody was hurt.

We can all try to be as careful as possible, but at the end of the day, stuff happens.

try not to beat yourself up to much. Both parties involved lived to see another day. That is the biggest thing. Everything else is really irrelevant.

no, you could have taken those pictures from a distance.

any company i ever worked for, we had "accident kits", which included a disposable color film camera, note pad, pencil, witness ID cards, company insurance carrier, all phone numbers needed.

there were time when i'd have to use that camera to take pics of damaged freight and i had to buy a replacement camera, which any company i worked for, reimbursed me.

that moron can still sue you in civil court, after your company pays her. and by the way, you never know, this could have been an insurance scam as well... she could have been driving around with those marks on her car, and you got the pic of the day to be the victim.

a good insurance company would ":investigate her" driving record as well, as what ever background checks they can.

if found to be she is scamming you and your company, she will be arrested for insurance fraud.

would be a great idea if you can get yourself a dash cam.

This answer right here is the only one to go buy. When a company pulls MVR, they'll look for rollovers, jack knifes, and tow away accidents. They may ask about incidents, but that's really no big deal. My rookie year, I had a backing accident in Florida and I destroyed a driver's hood on his truck. I almost pulled it off with my trailer. I still was able to get another job. Your company may charge you for an insurance deductible that's all.
