I am putting in an application for a trucking company and it asks about my accident; I do have one accident back in 2009 and the weather gradually getting worse, snowing hard, I lost control of the vehicle and it slided to the right and sideswiped another car, and the trucking company asks if it is a preventable accident or not, what should it be?

if it was in a car, what does police report say?
-
Police just gave me a warning for it, but I don't know it it should be classified as preventable or not.
-
probably fault was assigned to you. but if that is all you have on your record, i would not worry.
-
But do I pick preventable or not preventable, on the application I have to choose one.
-
that's what sucks about online apps. can you call them and inquire about it? my guess would be preventable.
-
non-preventable due to weather conditions..as long as you did not get an actual ticket.....
i had a motor bike wreck. it is a non-preventable as the car cut me off. it shows up on my DMV as an accident, but i was not charged with anything.panhandlepat Thanks this. -
I'd say preventable, too fast for conditions.
Wargames and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
a 4 wheeler can spin out at 10 mph.....we do not know the speed, and given that he was not driving a truck under DOT rules..they should not even ask such a question if it's in a personal vehicle. at fault or not, yes...but "preventable or non-preventable"...in a personal vehicle...??
the average driver of a 4 wheeler will never really know how to properly answer this question. -
that is what threw me off.
at fault, no-fault or not at-fault
