Really like the looks of the Peterbilt 389 pride and class edition. But...... not to fond of the chrome vents on the side of the hood that surrounds the Peterbilt emblem. Does anyone know how they're attached? Are they bolted on or taped? Just wondering if anyone's attempted to remove theirs.

I agree the vents look tacky IMO. The truck itself is basically just a 389. Buy a bare bones 389 and make your own you can call it proud and classy edition

I agree those side vents look like crap.Pnwtrucker Thanks this.

Peterbilt will not sell you that grill unless you have a title to a Pride and Class edition truck.
-
I see. Well then that does create a dilemma if you are dead set on that grill. To me I think the legacy class was a lot cooler as they only built so many. Pride and class they just keep building it seems.
-
My other idea go spec out a new 389 pride and class then tell the dealer you want the hood vents removed before you accept delivery of the truck. But maybe peterbilt has a thing saying dealers can't mess with it. I know when I ordered mine now it's not pride and class but cosmetically the dealer was more then willing to do anything factory wouldn't. As in paint lights etc

I bet that grill will be available after market in no time. Prolly already is.

I wonder if they're taped on with 3M or something and can be removed.
-
Idk I've wondered the same thing. Never took the time to look at one close, but I doubt very seriously it's taped on.

btw those side vents are 2500 a side ...
