Those 2 cents will mean nothing they put cameras on the company i was wprking for , first every violation now is free wait and you will see how much they will start charging you for each violation , second if the insurance see you doing something wrong you will end up like another driver on one of this treats , fired he has over a million miles accident free , why a camera facing inside hmmm solution some gum and voila

To be fair, now they changed the camera to only face the front. Will they fire me if I get caught picking up hitchhikers?

There is a light that changes color when it's "recording". It's actually always recording but when the light changes color because of a sensor activation its preserving the 10 seconds prior and 10 seconds after. It then sends it to a 3rd party company hired to monitor incoming videos. They then decide if the video is "real" or a false alarm. If found credible they send it to the trucking company for review. That's how the system in my truck works but I'm sure there is other systems that may function different. The trucking company has no live access to the camera. It does however have a memory card that can be viewed later in person.

This used to be a great company when the old man ran it. His boy and little Stevey ran it into the ground from a drivers POV. I'm sure they don't care as long as the quarterlies look good.

I have been with Pride for over a year. When I did have a camera, I never once got called to safety for anything that had to do with the camera, except when I had to hard brake when a lady cut me off in a construction area.
I have only been reprimanded for what I did. I had it coming. Rachel does take her job seriously. She is safety. She lives safety. She wants drivers to be safe.
She tells you during orientation, she hides Pride Bucks on the trucks and trailers so if you do a proper pre trip and find one, it is a reward.
They reward you for making 8 MPG. I don't see the big deal.
I get extra stop pay, I get decent layover pay if I am stuck waiting for a load after my 10/
Is there things that Pride can improve? YES. But what company cannot?
They listened to the drivers and took the driver facing cameras out, and have forward facing only in some trucks. I have my own personal camera and they leave my truck alone in that regard.
Service comes out and takes my truck in while I am on my home time, if it could use a wash and I do not put it in line when I go home, someone takes it in for me.
They have treated me great. I like the company.

Bumper and TB John Thank this.

    Been with pride two months.
I don't think my truck has a cam in it.
I do not recall being told there was a cam in their trucks.

You would know if you had one, it would be in the windshield and have a green light on all the time.
The way I understand it, they took the drivers facing out and asked for volunteers to run the cams they do have.
I drive 2502, which truck is yours? I will watch for ya and say hey. I just moved from PDS to local, but still run PDS when they need me too.
