I'm very happy. I'm staying very busy... and I have no complaints.
-
Awesome to hear. I'm between two
Pride or Freymiller. -
I've been CDL'ing for 3 years. I've jumped around a lot, which is good, and bad.
The good is, I've learned what's important to me in a trucking company as a company driver.
Obviously, you have to make your decision. Different people have different priorities, attitudes, values, etc.
But I *can* tell you that whenever I'm job hunting, I read a lot. The reviews, well, I've learned to take them with a grain of salt, due to the fact that happy people don't broadcast it nearly as often, nor as loudly, as do unhappy people, and unhappy people, I can say from my own experiences, are often unhappy due to factors such as crappy attitudes, unrealistic expectations, focusing on things that are everywhere, but not realizing it, etc.homeskillet and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -
Understood
ThanksBlue Zombie Trucker Thanks this. -
Not true, Oh, and that whole "high speed = high CSA score", how do you explain SWIFT, CR England, Fed Ex, Werner, Western Express, etc., slow trucks, high CSA scores, with the exception of Fed Ex, bottom feeders too.
Or, you work for a company that hires adults, and expects them to act like adults
If you know what you're doing, you don't get speeding tickets
Wait, you drive slow trucks and you've totaled one in 3 yrs? I've got 23 yrs and 2.45 million miles exp., I've never totaled a truck, I've two accidents, one reportable, the other not, the reportable one I was still cleared of fault 2 weeks later. I haven't a had a speeding ticket in 10 yr, I spend 60% of my day doing 80 mph. Oh, and my CSA score is 0, yeah, um, you don't impress me, talk to me about it another 7 yrs.Bumper, LoSt_AgAiN and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -
Have you actually checked their CSA scores? They are fairly low. For example Swift
SAFER Web - Company Snapshot SWIFT TRANSPORTATION CO OF ARIZONA LLC -
Almost everyone has a "Satisfactory" rating, it's when you go into the SMS link and look that you realize the problems, yes, they are a huge carrier, but the majority of the violations should not be happening.ZVar Thanks this.

Yes, but look at the % too. Well below national average. They just have a lot of trucks on the road so get in the spotlight a lot.
Sure, most of the items shouldn't be there, but you can say that for any company. Point is, compared to your average company Swift isn't bad at all. -
Yes. I have, in fact totaled a tractor already. Please note that I have a CSA scores of Zero. I was run into by a drunk who ran a stop sign at about 60 MPH. I was not negligent, not even contributorily. I was not cited. The troopers didn't even give me field sobriety tests, no UA, nothing, because it was so clearly not my fault.
And... I haven't had a speeding ticket since the 1980's.
And, for the record, the lack of being impressed is 100% mutual.
