I agree with you., however not everyone is blessed enough to own their own truck to enjoy the freedom of not having to deal with company policy's.

I would like to ask anyone that has a problem with these camera's.
Do you think the sales agent in a department store is having their freedom ripped from them?
Do you think the ATM you just used to withdraw your money is having your freedom ripped from you?
Do you think the overpass you just went under w/ the DOT Traffic camera is having your freedom ripped from you?

The fact is, today's world is filled with camera's. You might be fortunate enough to drive with one not in your truck, but the reality is you have more camera's watching your truck go down the road, getting gas, ect. than you know.

    Just Food for thought.

There are many threads where we could go on and on regarding the camera's and E-Logs.
I respect your opinion, however when your a "Newbie" your options are limited and you gotta do what you gotta do. Not saying Pride is a Newbie company by any means, but some people just don't have an issue with them. To those that do, I respect your opinion and wish you the best of luck. Finding a good company that doesn't have them or getting the financing to own your own truck isn't easy.

I agree also .35 isn't the best in the world, and I have really looked at other companies that I am eligible for and that pay more. For example Raven Transport. I could go right now and start at .43 CPM, but Pride treats me with respect, gives me great equipment, great miles, paying off my CDL School, Sign On Bonus, Home when I ask, Detention without even asking, ect. I'm not saying the company is the best in the Industry, but it has sure met my expectations and have stayed true to every word they have told me. My CPM might not be the best but to have a company that I can trust and count on means a lot more to me at this point in time.

For the month of October I took home almost $3,500 (After Taxes). That was with 6 days of home time.
Sure for some of you O/O and experienced drivers that is chump change. For my level I am comfortable with that, and appreciate Pride for giving me the opportunity to drive for them.

    11/7 - Trip Update:

    P/U Date - Time
    11/6/15 0900
    Sunnyvale, TX
Live Load (Detention - Not loaded until 1:15pm)

    Stop 1 Date/Time
    11/9/15 1545
    Corinne, UT

    Stop 2 Date/Time
    11/10/15 1845
    Mccarran, NV

    Total Miles - 2004
Extra Pay - $15 extra stop
    Detention Pay - $33
    Total Pay: $749.40

I arrived at the shipper at 11/5 and slept on the property. Docked and was loaded 4:15 hours later. Detention Paid. Once loaded I started Pre-Trip and started my clock. Drove little over 560 miles and made it close to Moriarty, NM. The load has so much time on it, I stopped in Albuquerque to spend the Day and night with my family. Got to ABQ 11/7-11am, leaving 11/8-11am. 646 miles from Stop 1.
2004 miles and $749.40 not bad for 4/5 days and 1 day home time.

So here is the deal. The company has about 20 or so trucks with cameras installed right now for testing.
They have not made any final decisions if they are going to fully install them on all trucks or not.
Certain trucks were given the cameras due to their safety records with the company. Others were just randomly chosen. After reading the post it sounds like driver was specifically chosen to have one installed.

DOT Warning's and not finding Pre-Trip Cash Tags (Which by the way are worth $ when found and turned in)
was probably a really good reason why this driver has one in his truck. His dig against Steve and voting for the Best Fleet to drive for was unjust. Steve sent out ONE message over the Message System giving everyone a heads up and vote if they like. By no means is he going around begging people to vote. Ha-Ha!

Sounds like someone is just really Salty...

I love the part where he says - "Then they added a ton of safety features to the new freightliner cascadias, no touch brake, lane departure warning and the driver cameras." Implying that Pride has specifically asked for these.
Besides the Camera's. These are 2016 OEM Equipment and come from Freightliner like this.
    https://www.freightlinertrucks.com/Trucks/Detroit-Inside/Safety/

On July 13th this driver made a posting regarding the Safety Director also:
"is there a way to delete a post you made? central refrigerated is actually decent, i might go back to central since i don't like the safety lady Rachel here at Pride Transport"

Wonder if he had a problem with Central Refer as well. Looks like he has gotten to know Safety real well. I am starting to see a pattern here...

Great day except for the ####ing dear that jumped out in front of me in coloroado. A few mile's later I see this huge object in the middle of the road, threw on my flashers slowed down and it was one of the biggest dear I have ever seen. Off to the shoulder was 4 more. Looked like they were all a family. Blew my air horn 5-6 time and he turned around and they all started back across th field.

I made it to my terminal in Salt Lake city. Drove just shy of 600 miles (597). Turned in my trip pack envelope for the load I dropped in Texas and will be paid tomorrow for that.

I am 50 miles from my delivery and doesn't deliver till 1545. Plan for tomorrow will be to get up semi early and throw my truck in the PM lane to be serviced and then she will get a bath from the truck wash people here. My truck was just serviced but I like to throw it in the PM lane everytime I'm at the terminal.

After my delivery appt. I will make my way down to NV for the final delivery. It's only 500 or so miles. So I plan on splitting the miles, 300-400 tomorrow. 100-200 on the 10th. I deliver to a Walmart DC and I can gauruntee they won't take me early so no point in making it in one day.

Let's see how much detention time I rack up with delivering to 2 Walmart DC's shall we?

Well first of all the " This is only a Test" is the company way of saying yes they are coming just are not in yet. Second, You are correct I believe that cameras will be standard but only for the Mega Carriers, yes some mid sized carriers may elect to put them in such as Pride and Millis but it will never be an industry standard. All it will take ( and rest assured it will happen) is for the miss use and abuse by the carriers.. If you have no problem with the camera that is fine and your choice and there in lies the problem. The carriers are not giving the drivers a choice except for ( we are putting a camera in your truck if you do not like that then you are free to quit.. There is absolutely NO evidence that a in-cab camera has increased operational safety, driver safety, or general public safety. The only thing that it does is allow the carrier to have 1 more measure of control over a drivers life and lively hood... So when people say if you are doing nothing wrong you should not have a problem with a camera.. well that is just an ignorant statement.. Because maybe just maybe some driver would like to maintain some sort of control over there lives no matter how small.. Oh Yes and that camera is saving the drivers butt perspective.. do not be fooled it is not there to save your butt it is there to monitor your butt and give the carrier more control over the driver..

Congrats to you on finding what appears to be a great fit for you and an all around great company in Pride. I absolutely appreciate and commend you on detailing your journey as it is very informative and shows that quality organizations do exist. My apologies as I was not finding fault with you or with Pride. I simply take issue with the in cab cameras and audio recordings and primarily with the carriers for shoving them down a drivers throat and taking more control of a drivers life.. Knowing full well that most drivers are not in a position to just leave a company.. If the carriers were truly doing this to benefit the driver in any way it is quite simple for them to just ask the drivers. We would like to put an in cab driver facing camera in your truck. it is your choice if you prefer not to have the camera that is fine. They could even offer the driver an incentive to put the camera in.. But at least it would be the driver having some no matter how small but some choice and control..
