Doesn't surprise me...lease ops at prime are glorified company drivers...prime controls your business and if you object in anyway, they blackball you...

You're right... but it serves to illustrate that if you're going to be out of the tractor for an extended period, it's best to get ahold of leasing and work with them on it

That's a crock. Maybe you'd like to think that but in fact you have quite a bit of control. They can't jerk a lease-op around the way they can a company employee.

How's that? You're not required to use their maintenance facilities... as long as it gets done. You're not required to accept a given load. Dispatchers who try to "blackball" you only hurt their own income. They're on a very modest base plus commission that is set by how all the drivers on their board do. They only way they can maximize their own income is by sending you all the freight you can handle, and needs to be the better paying stuff as well.

Well? I'm still waiting. I reject loads often enough. Haven't got "blackballed."

Wanna bet??...I spent nearly 2yrs with them and I got several times that it was their way only...like threatening me because I didn't pick up a load to generate them revenue...kind of hard to drive with pneumonia...prime controls the lp business.

So... you told ' em you'd pick up a load, and then you didn't? They don't take that well. Never had that problem myself.

No...i didn't tell them I was picking anything up...I informed dispatch to push my PTA out and I would let them know when I was well enough to drive...they still threatened because I was under medication and sleeping therefore not answering Qualcomm...that's why I say prime L/O are nothing more than glorified company drivers paying Robert Low's business expenses.

    rholl32 Thanks this.

And you let some jerk dispatcher get away with that? That's on you for not pushing back. Something else... you're an independent contractor on the lease side. Key word: INDEPENDENT. You allowed yourself to be used.

And so do the 1000's of people who have worked at prime in the past... If they were so great they wouldn't need a recruiting department... But its no different than the majority of companies out here...

As far as the OP this is just another reason why DAC should be done away with...Its a joke and garbage companies like Prime use it to try and push their weight around...
