Ouch, Well I'm getting close to my 1 year with prime, went through psd and then leased a truck and I'm making great money. So if you do it right and use the things that prime has to help you, you WILL make money. Of course if you like to drive 65 everywhere probably not the place for you. We like to drive slow because we all have figured out the secret that the slower you go the more money you make, and I for one am out there to make the most money for me, not to please other driver because im driving faster, spending more money, and am more likely to get into an accident. Just me .02, Good luck and hope to see you around

Force you to sign a lease? How did you manage to become a Prime company driver if they force you to sign a lease....
Maybe you're confused with one of the other dozen companies you've worked for in the last couple years...
As a company driver he didn't like being told to slow down, couldn't make good fuel milage. He's a job hopper, ask him to run down the list... 6 years experiance and he can tell you a little about a lot of companies. -
Here's the deal. As a student, you are not an employee. You are a student. Come to prime go out on the road with and Instructor, Pass the CDL exam, get your CDL, and you are hired.
While a student Prime offers a $200 weekly loan to help pay expenses while a student. Its entirely optional. You only payback what you take at $25/week. No interest.
Pass the test on the first try and there is a bonus (someone could correct me but I think a trifecta pays a $350 bonus to the student)
Pass your test and you are hired as a trainee. trainees are PAID $600 per week guaranteed or .12/mile whichever is greater. run less than 5k team miles with your trainer you get $600, run more than 5k team miles make .12/mile (.12 x 5,000 = $600) That guarantee is payed for every week you are on the truck available to run. take home time and there is no guarantee for that week.. you get paid for the miles you run that week.
As a trainee, run 30k team miles and you can upgrade to solo company driver or you can go Lease Operator. I would suggest you go company, but thats an entirely different argument. No one is forced to lease out of training.
Quit before 6 months and you owe have to payback the school tuition agreement you sign. Quit after 6 months you pay half. Quit after a year and you don't pay owe anything for the school -
What do you owe at before 6 months and after 6 months and how do you pay it back? -
I made good money at prime after I got my cdl. I leased a truck couldn't do the light weight truck 2 year lease save my money & brought me a truck.
