Good lucck with everything.. I just heard that 27 guys from last weeks class is on a waiting list for a trainer.
-
Ssshhhhh dont tell anyone but I renewed my app with Prime. Wife and I are just about ready to move back east to be near her family. I think Prime will be a better option for me there.
-
Enjoy the downtime. Get the pretrip down and itll make the road easier. Good luck to ya!!!
I wont tell anyone.... -
Just saw a Prime flatbed at the Joplin Pilot in one of the Petes, that thing sounded like crap. Sounded like his fan was about to fall off it was rattling so bad while waiting to fuel.
-
I wont be making a switch til after new years but unless something really changes here on a couple of things I will most definitely be coming then. Wife is thinkin she may like to ride once in awhile and that will be easier at Prime. Plus I like that I can bring my dog along with me,will have access to group health (yes I know I pay for all of it lol) and Im thinking maybe Id like to train. I trained many years ago and it helps the time away from home go faster not to mention giving something back to the industry thats treated me well for a high school only graduate. Oh and there is the extra revenue, that helps too lol.
silenteagle Thanks this. -
Looks like ill be doing my 75 hrs. Pulling a sled.. not what i was planning but its all good.
-
correction... "Looks like ill be doing at least 75 hrs Pulling a sled.."
Average time a Prime PSD student is behind the wheel, out with an instructor before testing was quoted at 110 hours just a couple weeks ago. 75 is the minimum.
You can do the math. Someone in the training dept is bad at math with that quote, or there really are students spending a ridiculous amount of time out there before testing out.
In simple terms, for every hour less than 110 that a student spends on the road, there is another student who's drive time is equally that much more over 110 hours. (If that quote is to be believed.)
Oh, they always throw in "Prime is not a training company. Prime is a trucking company that trains, so dont call us up the day you hit 75 hours and complain that your instructor and fleet manager wont let you test out. They will get you in when you are ready and as the freight allows."silenteagle Thanks this. -
Yes iknew that 75 is the minimum but i call it soft 75 . Actualy im expecting more like in the 125 range.ei.range. doesnt matter to me either way.
-
Just make sure you know how to safely maneuver the truck before you test out
long_run Thanks this.
