I 2nd the cash flow vote

.50/mi before taxes sounds an awful lot like company driver wages. I would assume your tax liability as a lease op is significant. My company driver average make .42-.47/mi before OD,short haul, stops, benefits, etc.
-
Are your drivers making that much while also investing in buying a piece of brand new equipment?Rodneylh Thanks this.
-
Heard they upped the tie down requirements we should carry to 20 each of straps, chains, and binders...
-
I would need to see the details of the lease before I agree with statement it is an investment toward the purchase of a new piece of equipment. Most leases I have seen are not really putting the driver on the track to attain ownership. Additionally, the statement made was that the lease op made .50/mi BEFORE tax liability. What is the tax liability?
-
As a lease/op, you pay Uncle Sam yourself. That's the tax liability. Your taxes owed are dependent on your tax situation.
-
Wow that's a lot where are you guys going to put all of the extra securement the headache is already mostly full and the 60in side box is no more if you have a 2011 or newer truck
-
20 chains and binders seems excessive, why dont they just give you some bigger ones?
-
20 chains it is and yes its a huge pia. As for 50cpm sounding like company driver wages well Im comfortable with that. I dont know many company drivers making that much and I know no company drivers that have the flexibility I have to go or not go where I want and take off where I want etc. I could make wild claims of more money like this weeks check of 1900+ for 2900mi but to represent that as a every week thing would be dishonest. I try to give straight info so drivers considering being a lease op can make a fair assesment of the program.
