Ok... just to keep the sightings up:

Today.

Southbound I71 in Ohio.

A maroon, Peterbilt, cutey-pie lil' lightweight pullin' a flatbed.

Yup, a lightweight flatbed!

 

Well, now. This thickens the plot...what say ye, ORD?!?

 

Produce usually pays by weight so I can see it happening. I think drywall too.

 

The loads are if anything heavier... started with reefer division and we got quite a bit more business from some of our major accounts being able to pull 49,000 lb loads in a reefer trailer. Parlayed that into more loads at the 42,000 to 46,000 lb weights too. This is part of the reason why Prime was one of the few trucking companies to actually EXPAND during the recent economic downturn.

 

That's the same Pete I seen leaving the yard the last time i was there I do believe he's one it a kind

 

I've seen a number of others - a black mid-roof Cascadia with a headache rack last week for instance. Don't get too attached to the idea that y'all are immune. Talking with a few of the FMs last summer, the impression I get is that outside of special-order lease trucks, team and training trucks the company would just as soon move everything to a smaller mid-roof tractor.

I'll take a mid roof don't really need the top bunk just not a lightweight I hope...but they can make that move after I get my truck next month
