I think it's a minimum of $25, but they give you whatever the customer pays.. Might be $25, could be $75. I don't think theres a real answer to how often you'll tarp, just kind of depends on where you are.

You get $25 to tarp and $25 to untarp, tarping is annoying but we get paid to it. I went to the fb side to get in shape and I love not sitting arround at shippers or receivers.

    Reycer and Royalmac Thank this.

With reefers that statement is probably true. Flats not so much but there is a little bit.

3 months or 3 weeks its not gonna differ a lot. Also it varies so much with each driver due to motivation, hours utilization etc that there is no way to say for certain how much you will make your first year. Most newbs dont make it a year driving big truck before they quit so just concentrate on hanging tough your first year, doing everything right and working hard and it will all come together in the end. Slack off a lot and you wont make much. By slacking I mean, not using all your hours available as much as possible, not communicating effectively about your etas or delays or questions, not scanning trips as soon as empty (hint:prime has a smartphone app which eliminates a need for truckstop scanning),not watching your fuel mileage, delivering late (I live by the motto no excuses,if its my fault Im late it dont matter why),not taking care to make sure your load is secured proper etc etc. Prime will bust your hump in the busy months with all the freight you can handle unless you slack off. In that case you will be a Prime "hater" in less than a year claiming they wouldnt run you blah blah blah. Im not a Prime superstar but they keep me as busy as I want and then some. If I slack off in some fashion my fm dont have to tell me because I start seeing less desirable freight. Why? Because if the csr cant count on me then he wont give me freight from a customer that expects top notch service. Instead I get low revenue crap runs until I get my head out of my arse.
