Hey NoTarps,
Quick question for ya. I am cosidering a Community College here in NC to get my CDL training, and have heard (not sure how true it is) that companies that recruit out of there consider the school as 6 months exp. I know my brother told me the same thing about the CC that he went through in MI. If and when I go through this course, do you know if Mav would be one of the companies that would consider the course as experience time?

I think a community college is the best route if you can do that. Some co's pay a tuition reinbursement after you are there so long. Best thing to do is research co's and see what their requirements are. Try checking back from time to time. Co's policies change.beancounter and cactusjack Thank this. -
Ok, thanks man. Hopefully things will pick up by summer then.

You will have to call Della at the school to find out which companies do.
Also check on the thread," NC Truck Driver Training at Johnston Community College in NC". KinnaKeet and others just graduated from there and have listed some information about those companies.
I know one is Howard Transportation out of N. Miss. Good one to get on with!
Best of Luck!!!

Thanks KC,
JCC is the school I'm looking into. I'll do some research on Howard, and get that list.
NoTarps and KC, y'all are awesome guys. Hope to see you on the road some time.cactusjack, notarps4me and kickin chicken Thank this. -
Thanks, good luck and be patient. If you ever feel limited or get desperate you can get burned picking a co.
cactusjack Thanks this. -
That's one luxury I have is a decent job right now, so I really don't need to jump on board just yet. I'm really hopin and prayin that Mav starts hiring newbies and moves the hiring boundries east to 95 so I can give them a shot. We'll see what happens I guess.
KC,
Got your PM, just can't PM back yet. I'll definately try to get some posts on here once training starts.notarps4me, kickin chicken and cactusjack Thank this. -
Hang in there. I used to run a lot of freight in and thru there with maverick. If time is on your side you have a good leg up on getting a good shot at a good co.
cactusjack Thanks this. -
