As long as youre not hauling a load requiring tanker/hazmat, you dont need the endorsements. If would be better to wait til you get your CDL and transfer your CDL to Ohio.

    RandyPud Thanks this.

wait a second. If I do go flatbed I won't need hazmat or tanker will I? Just crossed my mind.

No problem. I have neither endorsement so... But have heard that transfering them requires paying another fee. So might as well wait and get them added you your actual license.

My FM told me not to bother with hazmat. He said he doesnt see much of it. However, that may not be true for all. Youre supposed to have the endorsement. You will still need the tanker endorsement as we do pull totes with liquid in them.

Glad I asked then I didn't even think about hauling totes on flatbed. Brain fart.

That makes sense, I'll add them on when I go to transfer my license to Ohio then. I might as well get hazmat as well as tanker then just to make sure all bases are covered.

I might go get Hazmat sometime, but not anytime soon. Not going back to the house again for awhile.

After the 75 hours of drive time with the instructor and coming back to SpingMO to pass the skill test to get a CDL would I be then sent home to transfer it to an Ohio License and then go back out with the trainer? If not how long would I expect to be out before being able to get home to transfer it over, add endorsements, etc?

Once you get your CDL, you go back out with a trainer. Might be the same person, might not be. Either way they then route you back to Ohio for some hometime, when youll transfer your CDL over.

That'll work. So I'll be back in Ohio sometime during the 40k miles with a trainer?
