I may have worded it wrong

I understand law is no calls without a one touch hands free

I understand some companys don't even allow the bluetooth

Just curious as to if company policy differed from law

No. Holding the phone to your head or texting while driving is illegal. He's asking if Prime allows the use of hands free/bluetooth devices. I didn't answer because things have a way of changing. As of June 22, 2012, drivers were still allowed to use their phones as long as they did so in a manner consistent with the law. Speakerphone, bluetooth device, one button speed dialing are all allowed by law at the present time.

ETA: If you DO get caught w/ the phone on your ear and/or texting (and there are stories of drivers turning drivers in to safety - how true it is, I don't know. I'm not a driver) it is an offense that can get you terminated. Get a ticket from the friendly blue and red lighters? Yep, your next trip will be to SpringMo to give them back your truck, AND finding your own way home.

Thanks that's what I was asking...hard enough on the wife without having to tell her I can't answer if she calls...I do have a bluetooth and understand that's the only legal way

Students are not allowed to use them. Neither are Trainees, Initially. Trainers can determine if and when the trainee can use a headset when driving. It maybe a couple weeks into training or not at all.

Once you are on your own you are free to use Bluetooth as you like.

However, Safety Dept would PREFER you use it for short conversations less than a couple minutes. It's still considered a distraction, but there is no hard rule for the company.

Speakerphone if the phone is somewhere (say, velcro'd to the dash) is legal. Just sayin'. The background noise is a PITA tho.
