Hello to everyone! I know I've been missing on here for a while after bugging you guys to death with questions every day. I thought everything was all set for me to go to Prime a few weeks ago until I realized that a speeding ticket I got in March would put a hold on things. Well, I went to court last Thursday and explained my situation to the judge and he dropped the speed by 4mph: just enough for me to still qualify to drive for Prime! I am very excited. I forgot I told my recruiter about the court date and 30 minutes after I got out, she called to see how things went. When I told her I was good to go, she was excited for me and ready to ship me out that weekend! Lol! Anyway, I told her to give me a couple of weeks to wrap some things up at my current job and I would be ready to go. I also want to go on and get my CDL A permit before I get there so I don't have to cram for it. I hope to leave the Sunday after the 4th of July or sometime thereafter and I am definitely looking forward to it. I want to thank everyone who has taken time to answer my questions or who just posted some valuable information that you had to share.

If you do that you get the pleasure of talking to Jamie lol He doesn't play with things like that lol Ive seen what happens when someone tries to get something past him.... You dont want that face staring at you lol

Congrats DM!! Maybe Ill see ya around somewhere sometime. Getting your permit before you arrive is a really good idea. Keep us updated on your progress.

Thanks Dreamer! I have been following your posts too and you have always provided some great information. How are things going for you now? How long have you been out with your trainer?

Thanks! Ive been out with my CDL Instructor for about 3 weeks now. Fixing to return to Springfield so I can test for my CDL. Things are goin well... Sitting here in Pennsylvania waiting on a load back into Ohio, after that well pick up another load back to Springfield. Should take a few days. Im hoping by Friday to be back in Springfield. I better be back soon lol Or at least get hours back, my 70 clock is down to only 7 1/2 hours now. Which means Ive driven 62 1/2 hours in the last 8 days. I should get some time back tonight though... We shall see!

Did you get any hometime in during those 3 weeks or worked straight through? Do you know if you will get any hometime in before you leave with your trainer?

You do not get hometime until AFTER you start with your trainer. You will be gone from home around 6 weeks. Go out 3-4 weeks with your instructor, after orientation, go back n test, go back out for around 2 weeks, then you should get hometime

Correct... If you haven't asked or the recruiter hasn't told you, they will at orientation(CDL students). Expect to be out a minimum of 6 weeks before your first home time.

They want you thru instruction, passed exam, have CDL, and out with your trainer for a couple weeks... After, you can request every three weeks.

REMEMBER, your pay garauntee does not count on partial weeks while at home... Just the miles. 7 day Dispatch between 1600 on Tuesdays is the end and beginning of the week.

If the wheels aren't turning, you're not getting paid. Sittin' at home on the couch has a price.

I kind of figured to be out for a while. That means I need to try to leave ASAP in July so maybe I can get home for my daughter's 8th birthday on September 1st. She would love that since she doesn't want me to drive anyway. But she has an eating habit I have to support...

Hi all, figured i should introduce myself. will be heading to orientation some time next week. Currently in school with roadmaster, tulsa, ok. Tuesday should be going for my drivers test. Fairly confident will pass.

Just want to make sure i am clear on few things. Orientation is 4 days? How long should i expect to be sitting before pairing up with a trainer? And if i am remembering correctly, training is 80k miles?

    Thanks for your time.
