I will also be talking to a recruiter at Millis. I dont see to much in the way of negative on them and they seem to be competitive in way of pay and benefits with Prime. They also have a yard here in NY that is within 50 miles of me. As for training after you get your CDL you ride with a trainer 4-6 weeks Prime seems to be a little more than that and they only pay per diem to company drivers.

All I know about Millis is that someone I went to orientation with came from there and had a tough time with electronic logs, because he was used to running illegally at Millis on paper logs. That is of course second hand driver info, so take it for what it's worth.

This site has been a great resource in researching a potential truck driving careers. At 46 I have to consider making a career change due to the economy. I have been approved by two companies Prime & Stevens. i did consider attending school myself then looking for a job with a company then. However, I have a speeding ticket from 2009 15-19 over that is limiting my opportunities for the next year.
My first choice, after doing what research I could, is Prime. If any current drivers for Prim would care to shed additional light on the company for me it would be appreciated. Also, I am curious about one thing a lot of the training companies seem to pay in a similar range for drivers completing their training. However, Primes cpm is significantly higher is there a reason for that difference. If there are any Prime drivers from Greensboro, NC or Danville, VA I would like to talk to you. Thanks -
All I can say is only had one problem bad dispatcher on flatbed side. But they fired him and things are wonderful! As far as noobs. Hey most at Prime are all Great teachers. We take pride in our students. Also if you are New than don't go lease get your feet wet. See how they run you. Make it through first or second winter than debate on it. Think it through.. Its easy to switch to lease but nearly impossible to switch back to company. Take it from me they didn't like me switching back! Stay company for as long as it takes!

That is actually not a bad idea! My wife has her bachelors in business accounting! Maybe several years from now I might consider it!

considering the same rept. going to do some time company side to learn all the ins and outs. will give us time to build a buffer for lease operations, and watch the numbers.
