    I wonder if this is a violation of the Americans with disabilities act? Just curious. I'm not sure if it is or not but if definitely strikes curiosity.

    No it does not violate the ADA.I am not gonna do all the searching thru all the Government speak because I hate Government speak,but just google ADA of 1990,or ADA ammendments of 2008 and there are about 53 billion sub sections explaining that certain disibilities are not covered by the ADA when the General public can be endangered by the disabled person and Yadda, Yadda, Yadda.

    PTSD is considered a disibility that can cause harm to the General public by the actions of the person with the disorder under certain situations and in certain industries.Truk driving has many rules that nulify many of the regulations set in place by the ADA due to the possible danger to the public that a Truck driver can do.Mental disorders and stress related disorders are on the top of the list as per Truck drivers.I don't need to tell you guys that driving a Truck is very stressful and having drivers with stress related disorders would not be a good thing.The damage a Truck driver can do under a situation of extreme stress would be very significant to the public.

    Let me set the record straight here. I NEVER said anything about knowing how to fly an aircraft. I do however know a lot about the stress of keeping 100+ aircraft from smashing into each other at any one time.

    As for ATC wanting to drive a truck, exactly where are you going with this? I don't see any problem going from one stressful job I love to another stressful job that I have been around all my life.

    As for the ADA, it doesn't violate anything.

    If anyone wants to continue having a problem with an ATC and former SGT wanting to drive a truck, please PM me.

    I know they aren't. I just don't see the point in keeping questions directed at me that, in a sense, have nothing to do with trucking on a thread. Clutters it up in my opinion.

    Sounds good to me Sarge! Thanks for your service. Go check-out the VA and see if you can get your med records through them. They're going to have to get processed through DOD first, so it may be awhile yet...

    So true. So very very true. I thought it was rough dealing with politics while in. Try dealing with them after you're out...haha

    They are probably just wondering why someone would leave a good job like being an ATC with great pay and benefits to do something crazy like Drive a Truck,where everyone hates us and treats us like crap.:biggrin_25523:

    I worked local out of Kansas City for a few years and was in Springfield 2 or 3 times a week at a customer down from Prime.
    You could hear prime on the CB all day trying to get people in to fill out apps and take a chance to win a door prize.
    What a bunch of elephant droppings.
    From the stores I've heard over the years about prime they did you a solid.
