Waterloo that is where I am going about the 1st of February. Percentage pay and book as far ahead on the computer as you like and can see almost all the freight except dedicated.
Prime Inc. has no loads?

Wow... pulling for Schneider!?!?! Holy Moly! THAT'S why I gave up my truck in September. With the way I saw freight slowing down to a trickle over the past 8 months, and how I needed to dip into my savings every month to make the mortgage, truck payment, & bills, I knew all I needed was just one large breakdown/equipment failure, and KER-POW! I'd not only be out of business, it would be impossible to get rid of the truck as well! I mean, I had built up one helluva' reserve... but WTF, should I spend it ALL and then have to get on the bread line while waiting out the economic woes of this country? NOPE!
Be VERY thankful your truck is paid off... and it looks like a late model 780 Volvo... niiiiiice. Hopefully it's low mileage with lost cost of operation and you'll be OK. Good luck.
Oh, and the reason I was reading this thread was I was thinking of giving Prime a call, but if they're as slow as everyone else, I guess I won't.

Actually, we're not "as slow as everyone else." It's a regional thing. Ohio/Michigan really are bad... been doing well myself - not any worse than last January.
-
I hope Prime isnt slow cause im headed for orientation on the 28th....
-
Everyone's S L O W. I just hope it doesn't get much worse - although 'they' (Obama, analysts, gov't reports, etc.) say it's supposed to get a LOT worse. But, I think it could actually workout well for a newbie... instead of being bounced around everywhere like a pinball, you can e-a-s-e your way in. No?
Sean
Baack Thanks this. -
Nothing could be further from the truth.
You may sit a lot. But once a load has been given to you, it will still take on "air freight" status.
And freight movement will be sporadic as usual. They won't make any effort to keep you in one certain area. You will go as the freight goes. -
I'm shutting down my Real Estate brokerage. I applied to Prime over the weekend. Recruiter was out until tomorrow. So we'll see how it goes.
-
He he he... "air freight status" funny! But what I meant was you'll have a bit of downtime - as I did at Quality Carriers - between loads. It's a chance to get your bearings, catch up on paperwork, truck maint., etc. And yes, no roll, no pay - so that sucks.

Do you have experience?
