Any new tire situation will effect your MPG for a little while until the get worn in a little. It will start to come back up...
Someone with a little more experiance would know how soon better than I would.Last edited: Apr 4, 2009

Out and about... Last week was a bum week for miles, had to give up a better milage run to re-power a load for a L/O who ran out of hours because he couldnt get his weights right. He ran it illegal and didnt bother to tell anyone till I discovered it... overweight on tandems and tandems too far back.
It was only 200 miles and one scale house and Dispatch said they would take responsibility for any fines.
This week is shaping up a little better... a whole lot less sitting (more loads) but only short runs.
Started week with a 1k from upper MI to AR, where the reciever told me to come back to pick up my empty in the morning, and shipping jumped the gun and loaded it for a load the following day... leaving me in a situation where I had a reload elswhere and me waiting for a Prime driver to show up with a trailer with the potential of being empty or me having to wait for that trailer to empty. 400 mile load including DH, from AR to OK... and now a 260 total mile load from Joplin to just outside KC.
I will be empty this afternoon (sat)... its a 2 hour drive... the DH was 70 more miles than the loaded miles.
As for the trailer thing, my FM tried to get me switched to the loaded one, the miles would have been great but my hours would have made it tight and Im sure it would have screwed another driver... They had me bobtail to a Wally DC about 20 miles from my 01 for an empty. -
Are you guys liking prime for the most part. Ive been reading a lot about prime and am interested in them but we shall see.

I have one friend already leased on at Prime and he is doing very well. Two others are on their way over there. 1 starts Monday in Pittston and the over will probably start next Monday if his background check comes out clean. The one that is there is clearing over 2k EVERY week. He is leasing a 2009 Pete and is loving life there. It's not my bag running OTR and not being home but for him it's a great fit.

Just got out of CDL school.. does Prime hire rookies out of school??? Is this an ok place for me to get my 1 year exp and move on??? Is the eqipment ok and last but not least are they going to try to make yu cheat on your log book??

I could be wrong, and you would have to check with a recruiter...
Ive been told that we dont hire new grads from Truck drivers schools anymore. Again, I could be wrong...
We teach inhouse or take experianced drivers.... something that is stuck in my head is 8 months experiance after graduation from a Truck driving school.
A recruiter would be better able to answer that question. -
^^^ correct it is 8 months recent experience.

how much money looking at for the school prime who im going with or can we work it off to pay for the school
-
Not sure what you are asking there...
You work for one year from the day yous pass your CDL and the schooling is free... 6 months you pay half... under 6 months the full price.
I believe the price is 3000 to 3500 dollar range.
They loan you 240.00 per week while under CDL instruction (3-5 weeks) paid back at 25.00 per week. Money you can choose to take or not. After you pass the CDL test and get your liscense, you are officially hired and start recieve training wages.channel 19 Thanks this.
