I think that might be how I got fired back in 2016 too lol. The month prior, my dispatcher nominated me for "Driver of the Month" because I cleanly passed two DOT inspections, always delivered on-time and safely, didn't turn down any loads, etc.

When I called the safety department about my termination, they told me that the combination of my rear-end accident and the major moving violation (for the same accident) exceeded the threshold of allowable points on their safety matrix. Completely understandable, but most likely decided by an algorithm.

Geez, that sounds like a pretty unfair deal for both the license suspension AND the application rejection. Based on responses in this thread, it sounds like Prime has enough people going to orientation to allow them to be selective.

Wow, that calculation was pretty spot on. My yearly gross salary before overtime is $35,983 (about $17.30 an hour). As a single guy, I pay about $60/week for deductions (retirement contributions, health insurance and union fees), which is a really good deal.

My co-workers have been trying to convince me to stay at the DOT. However, hearing this from active Class A drivers is really making me think twice.

Its definitely worth the effort to save as much as you can.

I dont know how covid is going to affect the market going forward but one of my accounts is currently up 80%. Thats the account I use to invest individual companies.

My 401k and my Roth ira are fine, but not going as quickly with bonds and mutual funds.

Job satisfaction can increase your life span by years, in many cases.
You can make a lot more than $35,983.00 as an OTR driver and probably double that at Willow Run Foods. Drop by there and find out what their drivers make.

Don't listen to your co-workers; maybe they don't have the wanderlust that you have.

80% is quite a bump! Congrats!

If it isn't privileged information, are any of the FAANG members party responsible for that return?

In another 2 years (including 2020 totaling 6 years) it will be wiped off your record completely. However, in some cases though companies try to dig back 10 years. Like most mentioned there are alot of companies who will still hire you. What doesn't make sense though is the Majority of companies are complaining of a Driver shortage yet extremely picky? By this method they can only pick so much until they can't pick anymore.

No. I didnt jump on Amazon until after they were a giant. I missed that boat.

I just stuck with stuff that makes sense to me. Technology yes, video gaming studios, stuff like that.

Microsoft, nvidia, mongodb, and shopify are the ones currently propping me up.

Shopify sells online shopping cart technology. Amazon tried to put them out of business, but failed. Now Amazon partners with them.

Wanderlust is a word that really describes what I'm feeling... like being confined to the tiny town of Hancock, NY is a waste of this opportunity to live in our vast, diverse country. However, at 33 years old, I might be getting a bit old to make emotion-based job decisions. After overtime, I gross about $46,000, but my winters belong to the State of New York. I definitely have some things to mull over.

Also, it's funny you mentioned Willow Run. All last week, I (unintentionally) managed to hold up their trucks from reaching their destinations while I was flagging. They make a lot of deliveries around this area. I'll have to inquire about driving for them this week.
