With Prime you'll need a newer truck. So the newer truck will cost about $750-$800 a wk to lease. If you buy it will be about $1500.00 a mo. Now if you buy do you think Prime will keep you busy 1st or will they keep their L/O busy first?

don't get the connection between higher taxes and unions.

Federal and state workers are covered by Unions. I pay taxes to support their benefits and pension funds which in many cities have caused those Municipality's to go bankrupt or keep raising taxes.

Communist connection is lost to me. Communist China has no unions and don't allow them

The connection between the communist party and Unions in their inception- and structure is well documented. The difference between the two is their goal which in a communist shop is productivity and in the US it maintaining tenure and benefits despite productivity or conduct..

We as working class Americans owe them what we had; good jobs, good pay, 5 day 40 work week, overtime, medical benefits, vacation and retirement. Most of which we have lost.

The problem is that people think they are owed more then their employer has offered. If you desire those things you have listed, then work for someone who offers it.

None of what the working class has now, (had), would have ever been achieved with out the unions. There is no way you can change that in what you say; if you know history. Unless you were born with " Silver Spoon in Your Mouth" you owe what you got to unions. :yes2557: Other wise you would still be working 16-18 hrs a day 6-7 days a week. Tell me people did not have to work 16-18 hrs a day 6 to 7 das a week. Tell me children did not have to work in sweat shops.

Truck drivers now have to work 6-7 das a week 11 hours a day. Because the government has rules that limit driving hours and time off. The gov is in a way acting as your union. We lost unions and union protection in the 1980's due to that dirty piece of **** Ronald Reagan. I know I was the bad changes that have taken place since. I saw the construction industry completely taken over by MEXICAN INVADERS, THE REAL WORD FOR THESE MEXICANS WAS JUST BLOCK BY THIS WEBSITE. (Appearantly this website indulges in censorship and political correctness. I am about fed-up with this.). Don't tell me how hard union workers work; I was there I did that hard ### work and made a living until that Reagan traitor helped destroy unions. I suppose your happy that millions of Mexican invaders who are now in our country doing our work. I suppose you will be happy when Mexicans take your truck driving jobs. You and others like you need to stop talk'n trash about unions and re-evaluate your history. :biggrin_25526: "Those Who Don't Know History are Doomed to Repeat It". And we are now repeating it.

The problem is companies want keep as much money as they can to themselves because the are greedy, they want 10 houses and 10 cars. They want to bleed labor and hold themselves up as saviors, They want to say I gave you a job. They refuse to recognize that without workers they would have no business and they would be standing there doing their own work by themselves. And they would have fewer customers because fewer people would be working.

Federal unions and state unions can't really strike and really have no reason to they have job security which off sets their ability to call for strikes. This problem is out, so wages is the next point. They make about $16.00 an hr some less some more depending job skills, non skilled verses skilled and it dependes on the state your in. What would you have them get paid? They are a completely different that trade unions. In trade unions if you aren't making the contractor money you'll be fired.

Sorry I didn't mean to get carried away but when I worked as hard as I did and I hear that crap about unions it gets me out of sorts.

We probably need to get off this subject we are why off topic.

Perhaps you should THINK about this concept.... try posting responsibly and the site software wouldn't be censoring any of your posts, and for another thing, if you are fed up with this website, go find another website to hang out at, no one is forcing you to be here.

Agreed. Since we are viewable by the general public we have to have certain standards here, and if you have a problem with those standards no one is twisting your arm to post here.

I've had time to think about it. Yes, I'm sure you have standards that you have to keep up. Therefore, I offer my apologise.

I can't remove the distasteful part as it pertains to this website. I didn't get back here in time. Please feel free to do so.

I have a federal job, and yes we have a UNION. Supposedly the Federal governmemnt works with the union in good faith. But this is not always the case. I pay union dues, it comes out of my own paycheck. We don't have a government sibsidize program paying for our union. Our union is supported by the members. Now, as with all jobs not everything is perfect. The government passes laws in order to help the working class. but let me tell you this from experience. The government is one of the biggest anti labor middle class employers out there. Now, when I started working for the government I started with good pay. Over the years I have seen the games played with us workers. They start you out with $38,000K per year. In time, they start controlling what you make. Example: The first year one can make $38,000K with OT $55,000K. Then you time is regulated, supposedly cause of the economy. I was with them right before the shell cracked with all this housing market bust. Even before then, OT was hard to come by even though there was enough to go around for everyone. Union grievance, after union grievance we had to fight for our rights. We were successful in a lot of grievances but not all. To make a long story short, I believe if it weren't for our UNION that I pay like $20.00 a paycheck. I would have been screwwed even more. It's not perfect and all. But atleast I have representation and representation that works. Benefits, as with all companies they don't want to pay. They take, take, take, and when you use it.You have to fill out forms til the end of the world. But atleast I have my union. It shortens the process some what. I have never seen any of my co workers get hurt on the job and not have a paycheck come in. Oh! Medical benefits is up to the individual. We have a choice of over hundreds of medical insurers. You'r e pick. Blue Cross, Blue Shield, GHI, Union benefits, etc.. etc.. I really wish I could change some of you who don't like the unions. Unions are not bad, people become bad. With all the money involved in running and the politics people can become corrupt. Thats what I see from union bosses or elected officials whatever you want to call them. But it's up to the members to keep them on the up and up. Go to you're meetings, get email reports, call the union office, there are many ways to keep in touch especially in this age. They send you newsletters, magazines, I mean I can't not see members not being involved especially when it concern your livelihood.

Mannmk7< that's correct. Federal, state workers are not supposed to strike. It's in the union clause. That's one way to control it's workers. But we can have a wild strike or slow down. Example: Make 8 hours longer than usual. Of course we have forms to fill out but they can't force.. CAN NOT FORCE YOU! to work any harder. Then it becomes a safety issue and possibly a court issue. As for security, no that we don't have. We do have a job security clause of sorts. Example: employees hired before a certain are not to be fired. But if a company can find a way to make it cheaper and really cost effective to them. What do you think? If robots could deliver the mail in place of a mailman. Do you really think the mailman would lose his or her job? Think about it, Robots don't pout, don't fight, need no medical insurance, have no families, etc. I know I'm going off track here but if it were a reality. I'm sure any company would spend the investment on them. I'm a little far ahead of myself? Pheww!! Sorry.

Again, you dig up a thread that is almost 14 months old and write the same BS.

    Whats your beef with Prime?

You have a federal job, and its union... whoopdydoo.

I honestly think you just like to talk to hear yourself talk... or in this case type to see yourself type. Your no Guru.

Here is an idea, go to the newbie section and start your own thread about how to choose a trucking company... but make sure you preface the intial post that your not in trucking, but youve read about it online, and that qualifies you to offer advice.

How do I know you have no experiance? because 90 percent of your posts start with "Ive read alot online" or "I heard"

Word down the grapevine from a couple of friends over there that started out good and are now feeding them scraps. But word is that a couple of the dispatchers have been seen down at the bar with drivers greasing their palms for miles. That's what Prime does though. Run you hard at first then leave you barely hanging on. Why do they preffer to have mostly L/O? So they can collect money from the load's being moved and not have to pay anything out of their pocket for truck expense's so they are making more profit therefore screwing the driver by leaving them to take care of all the BS and just enough miles to make the truck expense's. If your doing good over there then you must be kissing someone's ###. No way would you ever find me kissing a companies ### because this is ####### america and that's not how #### works here.
