No he doesn't feel like he is learning everything he is suppose to--- like the preinspection(?) or walk around that you are suppose to do b4 every trip, well the guy he is with has done it ONCE. My man does it daily but he is going off notes, not hands on. Hardly any backing at all. He doesn't want to cram everything into the 24 hours before he tests for his CDL. And, the guy must trust him, because he already falls asleep while my man is driving. My man just wants to be trained correctly and succeed in this business. that's all. So, he could actually switch today, if his FM let him?

Tell him to study the sheets, everything he needs to know is there (should be anyway). Like I tell the kids, if you don't understand it, memorize it. At least then you know what to do and in what order. JCW didn't go thru Prime for school, so I can't help you on that, ORD can help you more.

    NewbieTruckerWife78 Thanks this.

You know, I heard that Prime was like a family of sorts, and I was like, yeah right, but honestly, Thank you all for being so helpful!!! It is hard being an at home wife with a man starting this out and all the help is wonderful! Thank you DTB and ORD.

You and me? We're kinda in the same boat. JCW left here on July 19. We DID get to see him Sat because there was time on the load they were meeting at SpringMO (aka it wasn't there and wouldn't be for a while). So we met up at the I-44 Midway. Kids almost knocked him over.

JCW will return to SpringMO Wed or Thursday....5K short of the necessary 40K. So, he will go out w/ a 2nd trainer for the last 5k. (They were broke down for a week in Detroit, and trainer's truck lease is up. He's using every millisecond of that grace period.)

As for family, well, me, I believe in taking care of my own. ORD, and a couple of others are basically at the same point in training, etc...so, we've been kinda following each other's travels. Plus, I'm a mom...of a high level competitive gymnast. Being supportive is what I do. Gymnastics is....a great sport, but it's hard. And 4 sprained ankles and one break in 14 months has kinda made me wish we'd never begun that journey.

I agree maybe he could be a little more diplomatic but as far as drivers goes he had no accidents other than over shooting on hookup. Hugh beat the #### outta his equip, lisa went in ditch, tony wrecked truck, rick tore up side of building andhad equip issues.

As dave said on show they seemed to have it against him from gitgo. As he said on show concentration was bad because he was getting raw deal on lots of things. :biggrin_25513:

@DTB- this is NOT the easy choice. No man wants to be away from his family, and no family wants their man gone. But, America is short on careers and something has to put food on the table--- we plan on heading back up to Alaska after all is said and done- My man lived in Alaska for 34 of his 36 years. Funny you guys are all talking about the show-- not sure he will be an iceroad trucker or not but a trucker none the less! I am a stay at home mom, we have 3 girls between us and now a 4 month old son-- Hard choice, hear your only son's first words, see his first steps or go on the road to support your family, but he made the right choice- just wish he would of gotten a better person to teach him. It would of made this experience ALOT easier. @ORD thank you for giving back!@ Some people are weary of help, but I say, the more help the better esp with folks like us who don't know anything about the industry other than what we studied before my man left and what we are learning now. It is nice to know helpful people still exsist out here!!!

Does Prime run to Alaska? We want to go to Oregon for a few years and then see from there...
