These drivers who sign up for a lease purchase don't know better. Robert Low(owner of Prime) is a predator. Most of these people he preys on chose Prime cause it has a program to help people obtain their CDL. All these potential drivers see is the Prime school is "free" and that they pay Prime back with their time(something they have no idea how valuable it is). :biggrin_25526:

Prime may have a basketball court, cafeteria and other amenities but who's out here for all that ? This is a job ! We're all out here to make a paycheck so we can make our lives and our families lives better. This is the kind of tactics the tech companies have learned works on sheep. Give an employee free food, video games, a basketball court and they'll never want to go home. Trick them into believing their job is so cool that what's the point in going home ? During the Industrial Revolution the working man fought hard for workers rights but all these people are giving it right back for a free burrito. :biggrin_25513:

People talk about the Prime lease scam but what about the Sleep Studies they push on drivers then turn around and sell them $2,000+ equipment for it because now the driver has a "disease" that can kill them any minute without this expensive equipment. :smt117

    :smt071#### Robert Low !

I'm a few months in as a solo driver for Prime. On my third night in the hotel during orientation a little while back, I woke up in a bath tub full of ice cubes. There was a note on a napkin that said to call 911 or the leasing department, so I called leasing. They told me I had 45 minutes to live unless I leased and I told them I was happy to be going in as a company driver and wanted to stay company, and still they actually called 911 for me any way.

Robert Low had taken my kidney and it now belongs to a young man in Paraguay, but we did get $3,250 USD for it. That money is now going towards side-skirting more of our trailers so I can get better fuel mileage.

The great thing though, is my appetite is greatly suppressed without a kidney. I've lost so much weight that I don't need this sleep apnea machine that I paid eight grand for any more now that my neck isn't gigantic. I will sell it on craigslist for 60 bucks so I can eat for a few days since they only pay me .16 CPM here (my fuel bonus for driving 48 on the interstate knocks it up to .65 CPM).

    That's quite an interesting read.
My first job was with Midwestern Dist., Ft. Scott, KS and the owner and managers of that company came to mind while reading this. Upon reflection, not much different between Midwestern and Prime.

When I was attending orientation with Midwestern, I won a drawing and the prize was a grease gun. The guy in charge stood up and told everyone how fortunate I was and now I can save tons of money by doing my own grease jobs and can write it off as a business expense.
You would have thought I won the lottery, the way the suits stood up and started cheering. I just sat there with a stupid look on my face wondering if they really think I'm that stupid.

Knew right them I wasn't sticking around for long. Started mailing those job applications from the little books at truckstops and landed a job hauling boats so took Midwesterns truck back, turned it in with no warning.

I'm surprised the prime cheerleaders haven't showed up to defend the company .

    So let's see here:

Robert Low when he tried to run Prime Inc as a legit business back in the day he couldn't get that right. Now we find out the man can't handle Halls cough drops. LOL

My only beef with Prime is how they manage to be on every two lane back road in the country. I mean really, how do you guys do that?

From all I have read, Prime is the best training company to start with: Highest pay for new drivers and best training.
Just don't lease without a couple years experience and thorough research.

If I had it to do over, I'd have started at Prime

I'd have started at Schneider Bulk did two years or so and switched to Trimac 7 years sooner. I'd have a lot more money now.......or more toys.

You simply can't beat Superior Carriers right out of school. The idea is to start someplace where you do not need to leave in 1-2 years. Neither Prime or Schneider is that company.
