The only time KWs are brought in is when Freightliner and Peterbilt are having a hard time filling our orders. In any case, it's never very many. They're heavy, and by all accounts I've heard, unreliable.
Prime lightweight?

Thought I saw a post that you were waiting on trucks....... Too many drivers needing upgrades.
Maybe time to bring in some heavy unreliable paccar products. -
KWs don't fit into the company's business model. We do use Paccar products... Peterbilts.
-
Right on, thank you for that viewpoint!
Cheers -
My recruiter stated lite weight was an option for solo co. I reviewed that pt several times. An option.
Can anyone support this info? Would like the option, not mandated. Interested in learning more when I get there about the benefits & negs.
Thx -
Not really an option... of course there's not too many places where inexperienced drivers start at 41-cpm plus fuel bonus.
-
Don't dispute that. As they request accurate info from me, I expect the same. New to trucking, not to business.
I ask more q's than most. Want facts & then decide. Work to reduce the guessing game.
Thx for update.
With shorter wheelbase, how does lite handle compared to full size? -
So, if they force company drivers into these lightweights, do they get the .05 cent per mile raise or is it still the .34?
-
LW are .41 cpm per recruiter
-
It's 36 cpm plus the 5cpm for a lightweight. 41 cpm plus fuel bonus.
