I will be there June 30th, I am very excited I got my CDL at a local college so hope everything works out. I just got a laptop for the road so I will keep everyone posted on how it goes.
Very nice, Glad to hear you got the laptop, It could be boring without a little communications. Take Care Good Luck. TD.
Thanks I appreciate it I leave today out of Phoenix, I am looking forward to it. I just hope I get a good trainer. I think that is very important, IMHO a trainer can make or brake you, depending on the personality.
A good trainer can make you, but a bad trainer can't break you... IMO. You can get transferred off the truck at anytime if you have a problem with the guy for any reason. No matter what, you just need to hang in there and get through it. You have the power to make it or break it yourself. Try your best, stay cool, and get it done my friend.
Thank you guys. I will most absolutly get it done I have the right mind set. I just got in Springfield last night, I was picked up by Prime security fella by the name of Gage, nice guy, anyway he took me around the facility last night. I had no idea this operation was so good. The facility in of itself is very impressive. So far I think this is a top notch operation. I have been treated very well and look forward to orientation tomorrow. However right know I am off to do the simulator so they can evaluate my driving skills. I will keep you all posted. I am not sure if I need to start a new thread or just continue this one, let me know what you think. Take Care out there!!!!!
AZ Cats- Glad to see you made it to Springfield alright. I heard the Millennium building is nice.... How is the motel they own? Should I expect a roach motel? LOL!!!!!! Anyways, I start Orientation August 3rd. Trying to see if I can move that date up as I was suppossed to be on family vacation in July, but that has changed. TruckerMike- Any tidbits on the Simulator? I don't have any experience at all and was wondering if they use the simulator to help you with shifting, etc before being assigned to an instructor. I know you get "real world" training w/ Prime, just again, wondering about shifting concerns on instructors trucks such as grinding gears, etc... Thanks.
Yeah, there is a new requirement for students to ha a certain amount of simulator time before the instruct can hit the road with ya. Maybe some real truck time around town too.
