What gets me, is someone comes to my thread and ask a general question, and I try to give a fair !!!OPINION!!! (not assumption) of my experiences and the things i have not only seen, but have heard from many other drivers here at Prime, then I have a much more experienced driver come on and attemp to put down my Opinion. While I might be a noob, im not some punk kid right outtah Highschool. I would like to think that people would appreciate anothers OPINION wether they have been a part of Prime for 2 months or 10 years. Last time I checked thats what this forum is all about. Yeah Im a new guy here at Prime, but I come here with a heck of a lot of life experience behind me(11 years in the Navy, 10 years owning my own company, and yes 2 years of driving belly dumps and side dumps in the steep mountain roads of Montana, I had no CDL, so didnt even bother to mention that part before, cuzz it really doesnt matter). Ive met quite a few people in my short time here at Prime, and all of them have been very humble and always anctious to lend a helping hand. As a matter of fact, the only time I have really experienced any negativity, it has been on this Forum. Like I have said before, I have a lot of respect for all the divisions here at Prime, and at no time have I implied that one was better then the other. Of course I am more partial to the division that im currently attached to, but you still wont find me trying to bash any other. I will only give my(one more time) OPINION as i see it.

    You couldn't be more wrong.

OK... fair enough. In your opinion, you are assuming a lot of things - some of which are quite wrong.

I've stayed out of the peeing match between the flatbed division and U2, but the fact is you guys are wrong about a lot of things - that's said in general, not pointed at any one individual. Have you ever considered that the training program is intentionally light on assignments? That you aren't given the most challenging loads? That the schedules are relaxed?

The fact is that the reefer division is tasked with delivering freight on very tight schedules. There isn't any leeway in it, and the only reason we have the accounts that we do is because we do it on time, year around, in both good and crappy weather. We sell a service - and we're good at it.

The newer flatbed drivers have been pushing the idea the reefer division is a bunch of lazy loafers, who sit around for vast quantities of time at shippers and receivers, we never see anything interesting, etc. Nothing could be further from the truth.

You have an opinion? Fine. Don't get bent out of shape when someone who has experienced what your "opinion" is about, disagrees and deflates your balloon.

Thanks for your service. Myself? 10 years in the Air Force, Vietnam-era veteran. 20+ years as a degreed engineer, business owner, and now trucker. Running my own business - successfully - something that 100 people around this forum will tell you is impossible in a Prime lease truck.

It is not easy, and you can't "loaf" or sit around at shippers/receivers and expect to make any money. So have an opinion, but expect to get called on it in this forum if it doesn't match the reality of the situation.

    Thanks.

I couldn't be more wrong? Really?

So what you did earlier wasn't trying to one up the OP that sparked all of this?...

I don't see IP or U2 trying to one up anyone. They do try to keep the info accurate and the discussions fair. Do they always exercise diplomacy? Nope, but I don't think that it is a requirement. Thick skin is a requirement, and a little humility. (specially when you are wrong or have a deficit of experience) I try my best to keep things on an even keel, but I do appreciate IP, U2, and a few others that have experience and actually TAKE THE TIME to post here and help people out, because so far that is what they try to do.
