So I am realizing today that I really need to invest in a TV and fridge for the truck. One can only sit in the front seat for so long and watch the other truckers before they have had enough. And drinking warm beverages is for the birds.

OK, so i have a question for you guys that have been around and know the system.
Im currently sitting 219 miles from my 03 which has an appt time of 0700. Im also finishing up a reset. SO here is my delima. I would like to leave here as soon as my 34 is up and drive the 4 hours its gonna take to get to my 03, which is a port of entry, and also has parking available according to the QC. So my 34 is up at 1730 tonight, drive 4 hours to 04, and take my 10 so i can start off tomorrow with a full 14 to get 3 drops in and possibly pick up my next load assignment. The only problem with this is my 10 hours will put me at 0730 drop tomorrow morning. I do it this way, and be 30 min late or i leave here at 3am to get there ontime, but I take a chance of not having enough hours to make all 3 drops and get my next load. So I guess im looking for opinions. I hope this is eazy to understand. Thanks to all in advance for any input you can give me.
P.S. id call my dispatcher, but it seems that everytime I talk to him im bothering him. -
You can do an 8/2 split sleeper berth break at your 03 and 04. You're starting off after a 34-hour reset, so you can leave your current location, drive to your 03. After logging 8 continous hours in the sleeper you unload. Drive to your 04 and finish the break with 2 hours off there - unless you can make that work while at the 03 after unloading -don't blow say 1.5 hours off-duty at the 03 while waiting, just finish the split with that out to the two hours. The 8-hour break will not count against the 14 calculated after leaving your current location, so you'll have time to make it to the 04.
Be aware that the 11 and 14 hour clocks for your day will be a little different. The clocks do not start at the end of the 8-hour break until after you complete the split at your 04. The line 4 time at your 03, the drive time to the 04 and the 2-hour break at your 04 will count against your 14. Your elogs will calculate all of this for you, but you will need to keep a close eye on your time.
You might want to delay your departure since you'll be in the sleeper for only 8 hours at the 03, but make sure you have some extra time to take care of unforseen circumstances. That 8-hour sleeper break is a minumum - it can be anywhere from 8 hours to 9 hours and 59 minutes to count, but it must be shown as a continuous period on line 2. -
ok, so let me make sure i got this straight. I leave my present location for my 03 after my 34, go into sleeper birth for 8-9 hours, unload, drive to 04 which is 47 miles from 03, while unloading go into sb again, but this time make sure my sb hours total 10 hours. after that SB i should have around 10-11 hours left off of my 14? And maybe 10 hours of drive time left depending on the traffic from 03 to 04?

You do have to be more aware of your time when doing this... so keep an eye on what you have left while the day progresses.MONT74 Thanks this. -
Thanks IP, I will give it a shot.
