I'm thinking Stevens will probably be my second choice, if Prime doesn't accept me. :) Question, I'd be getting my Permit in Minnesota, would i have to get my CDL down there or could I get it up here?

Take your MN permit to orientation with you. When you get your CDL through Missouri, you can take it back to MN and have it transferred there.

I can't speak for Missouri, but most states do not accept another state's permit in order to license. You must take the permit tests of the state that issues the license. Part of the permit tests are that particular state's laws, not just the CDL tests.
Check it out to be sure.
Once you get your CDL, no matter which state, you can transfer it to any other state you reside.

Yes you can come to Missouri with a permit from another state... I dont speak for MO, but I know, and this question has been answered a 100 times.

Once you get your CDL, YOU HAVE TO TRANSFER the CDL to your state of residency... I believe you have either 60 or 90 days. Some states make you retake the road test before they will issue the new CDL. I believe IL is one and possibly CA. Hazmat is not transferable, so wait and get that in your home state.

lol, another one post wonder spoutin BS. Detention is automatic as long as you follow the procedure. Do circle of service correctly. Its always there and I dont even have to ask for it.

Stevens makes it VERY clear to drivers what info has to be on a lumper receipt. If she didnt make sure it was all there then thats her fault, not Stevens. And the .26 per mile the first 30 days solo ... she was told what the pay was before she agreed to it didnt she? lol

I will be respondin to the Stevens comments and "Opinions" in their own message boxes. In the mean time, good luck to ya at prime and see ya at the terminal, they call me Shrek

Go to a private school. Roadmaster in San Antonio is a very good school. Not familiar with Prime but Steven's hates their new drivers and treats them like ####.

I will disagree with that statement. I am treated fair, with respect. New drivers is Stevens business, they do not hate them, they will spend MONTHS trying to train you to be a safe driver.

I will also say if you can, go to an independent school of your choice, that way you are not an indentured servant to the trucking company school.

Training and equipement at Steven's is excellent assuming you get a good trainer. If you don't mind being treated like trash then anybody going there should not have a problem.

Alamorich, have you worked at Stevens or are you just passing on unsubstantiated rumors?
I've been at Stevens over 3 years. They have ALWAYS treated me well, with respect and been very professional.
My loads are good, my pay is good, they never screw with my checks. Expenses as promised are paid.
I don't understand why people feel it necessary to bash another company they have not worked with.
And before you go off half ####ed, I DO know what other companies are like. I've worked at some of them over my 39 years.
So do us a favor...post truth. Not unfounded rumors or truck stop trash stories.
