Stay away from CRE. My husband worked for them, leased a truck. There is no money in it unless you train, he was a runner, never home much. And unless you train for them it seemed like the miles disappeared. The international he had also had too many problems and stayed in the shop a lot. One time was a week in the Nevada area, with his student also.
Don't know about Western Express. It seems like all companies promise the moon. He is at Prime now and changing over to lease. As company he has done good and had a good dispatcher. They don't hassle you, and are there if you need them.
Prime or US XPress?

Prime if you want to drive solo and US Xpress if you have someone you want to team drive with. Prime you can go flatbed or tanker which may lead to opportunities for higher pay later. US Xpress is geared toward Teams, work their as a solo and you'll be working for crumbs.

If you go solo at USX then get on one of their dedicated accounts. That will get you the miles.

I've been thinking about a change. I have 10 years in oversize, but I'm getting kind of sick of the run around. I kind of enjoy legal load flatbed. I have been asking many prime drivers how they like they like it there. 4/5 drivers have very positive reviews. I have a car that I themed as an autobot. Since my license plate is PRIME and their drivers approve of their quality of life at prime, I would say Prime. If your not considering flatbed as an option, I have no clue which is better.

How bad do you want to drive at a whopping 58 mph's
That is what prime is set at. And before the prime cheerleaders start flaming, Explain to me why in the last 9 days I have past over 50 prime trucks and one rtc truck all doing less than 60 mphs on 7-,75,80 mph posted roads.
Pretty bad when Crete can pass prime now.Big Duker Thanks this. -
Me, I would rather go slow and always have an my trl. That's just me. Plus, prime has some pretty sweet rides
Offender and TNhellbilly Thank this. -
Regarding the empty trailer issue. Get on a dedicated account that's all drop & hook. We're on one at US Xpress. Haven't searched ever for an empty. Never slid a tandem. Never had to weigh a trailer. Life is good !
