You will need your current license, a CERTIFIED copy of your birth certificate, think your social security card. I just finished the PSD part of it so.... You have 30 days from the day your MO CDL is issued to get it transfered back to your home state, if not, you will have to start paying MO state income tax. I just had to do the transfer to get mine changed to Alabama.

    Greetings...

I'd like to ask a few questions of the masses ( :) ) while I wait to get in touch with my recruiter (who I've not heard from in over a week). If anyone knows the answer to any question, thank you in advance :)

(PS... this was the email I sent to her)

1). After the starting 4-days, while I'm waiting for an instructor, do I have to pay room and board or am I still covered? Do I stay in the same hotel?

2). Will I have to apply/get a TWIC? I think I asked you but don't remember the answer. Also, do I need a passport?

3). According to your site, I will need to get a HazMat endorsement... is this true? I will probably go refrigerated.

4). I am planning on taking my CDL Permit test here... should I also go for the HazMat here?

5). Physical: Can I get a physical here before or do you need to do it?

6). If I decide to drive down on Sunday before school, is there a place that I can park my car and leave it? It's an old beat-up clunker that I really am not worried about leaving un-attended. Would there be any charge for doing so?

Not sure about some but heres what I do know:

You can apply for a TWIC card once you get your CDL, they have an office in the Millenuim Building

A Hazmat endorsment is good. But my trainer doesnt even have one. I would get everything I can.

They do have parking there. Someone in my class drove their car and left it while he was gone.

The others I am not sure of. I know the physical is DOT, so they might have to do it. It doesnt cost you anything to do. Either way you will have to have the UA test done. Hope this helps

    CadetTrucker Thanks this.

You're covered as long as you are in Springfield, and no, you don't have to move out of the Campus Inn.

Yes, and yes. You can take care of both while you're in Springfield.

Yes. But don't let it freak you out... we don't pull anything very hazardous.

    Yes.

You may have to have a DOT phyiscal if your state requires it before you come to PSD. That being said, whether you have one or not, you will get a DOT physical by our doctor. BTW... Dr. A is a very good doctor.

Yup, we have a drivers parking lot on site. It is monitored by security, and there is no charge for leaving your vehicle there - as far as I know. I think you'll probably have to register it with security though.

After reading through an infinite number of threads and countless hours of research on a plethora of companies, I decided to apply with Prime. I got a call this morning from Gracie, a recruiter for Prime. She was very informative and by far the most professional recruiter I have spoken with. I have an appointment to call her back in the morning. In the mean time I have a few questions I thought some of you pro's could give me some insight on. In regards to the Passport and TWIC....is there a fee for applying for either of these while in Springfield? If so, how much? I just want to be prepared financially.

I went and applied for my TWIC a couple of weeks ago when I got my CDL. There is no upfront fee, if I remember right. The cost is 130 something. They will deduct it from your pay in either 1 payment, or two. This is only AFTER you get your CDL and are an employee. I have not tried to get a passport yet, but will shortly.
