The cdl test is a pre trip, backing test, and road test.

Good luck on your permit, those tests are a pain.

Why you doing the DOT Physical? That required for a permit in your state?

 

I didn't have to get my physical for my permit (KS).

Yes, a DOT physical is required in order to take cdl permit test in Louisiana. My physician charges $70 for a DOT physical and there is a $15 fee to take the permit test. From what I have heard on this site, it is well worth the $$ to get a permit before I arrive.

 

Ya it is worth getting the permit. Makes your time here a lot less stressful, plus you don't have to worry about getting sent home for failing the permit test.

Dumb you got to do the physical as you'll have to do one when you get here anyway.

 

Yea, I'm not crazy about having to do that whole "turn your head and cough" procedure more than necessary. I just hope a prostate check isn't required!!!!

Is there anything else you can suggest to keep in mind? Other than not lying or acting like a complete idiot.

 

Be on time everywhere during orientation. Its not optional when you start talking about load/unload appointments.

Hey everyone. I was talking to a recruiter with FFE, but after reading this thread I'm gaining interest in Prime. I have heard good things (as well as bad things) about both companies. Was just wondering your thoughts about how these schools/companies compare? Which would you prefer and why?
