"They" are "allowed" to screw-over your DAC report, because "they" can. The company that administers the DAC report system basically allows any comment from a trucking company to be posted against your record without any verification required. You can post comments refuting whatever is posted there... not that any company will pay attention to what YOU say about yourself.

OTOH, the deck is stacked against us. It's like a credit report, except it's more difficult to clear. You can pretty much guarantee that to get something removed will require an attorney's involvement. And because it deals with employment, it can really put your life into a major twist.

If you do come to Prime, DON'T LEASE A REEFER OR FLATBED TRUCK!! I don't know of anyone here making any money in these 2 divisions with leases. I'm sure some are out there, but I just haven't met one. If you have a bad week in a lease, you still owe about $950-$1100 (all fixed cost) plus the fuel you bought during this week which equals a negative settlement. If, on the other hand, you have a bad week as a company driver, you just bring home a small (BUT POSITIVE) pay check.

Its easy to stay out of a lease as a company driver, but going from lease to company...well that's a whole different ball game that you will most likely strike out on.

Over all, I think Prime is set up really good right now with the economy still in the tank. As someone said earlier, our drivers don't tend to sit around waiting on a load, unless you're tanker, but thats a different world. I leased a reefer truck for Dec cause I wanted to be a trainer. Ran just over 11,000 miles and brought in about $1800. Ran a lot of loads that only paid for truck and fuel to "get to a good paying load" that I would end up with $100 or so in my pocket. I gave up and got my tank back...THANK GOD!!

From what I know of all the companies you listed, Crete would be the only one that I'd even think about considering. Good luck to you no matter which company you do choose.

Might want to share that with the 1400 unpaid stranded arrow drivers then; I am sure that will be a comfort...:biggrin_25524:

That makes it a cut throat industry you all have been dealing with. I called FFE and explained my circumstance :biggrin_25526:, the recruiter was somewhat sympathetic of my condition. I was told to let them know when I will like to start again. Didn't seem pissed off or anything so who knows if they are still going to get me with DAC.
