    Boobs are boobs. :D

We're getting a repeat of Friday. Our load wasn't ready to go until 8AM this morning. Took it to the scales, too heavy on the rear axles with tandems set to what they need to be for Tennessee (darn you!). Had to take it back for them to rework the weight. Will be going back around 11 to recheck. :biggrin_25518:

    Welcome to truckin'!

You can deal with it with some time up front, or you can pay the overweight ticket - and still deal with it. Your choice.

Nothing like showing for a repower on a dropped trailer, and some total jerk has left you an overweight load. Now you get to deal with the jerk's c.r.a.p.

Had a company guy bring me a load a couple of weeks ago... but he can't read the bills. Tells everyone its 31,000 lbs. On the first bill maybe. I hook onto it, and know something isn't right from the git go... scaled out at 82,000 lbs gvw. He forgot about the other 17,000 lbs on the second bill.

It's a pain, but you have to deal with it - while you're within a couple of miles of the shipper.

I ain't complaining! It teaches you patience. My trainer says never send in your departure report until after you've verified the weight on the axles. And pay attention to that tandem sticker on the side of the trailer! Darned Tennessee and their 9th hole requirement. :p

Thanks to that, we had to redo the weight. This was around 0845. It's 1615 now and they're ready.. but no bills were made yet. More waiting.

You need to pay attention to what your trainer says, but sending that departure call is meant to be done when you LEAVE the property of the shipper or receiver. Waiting until you've run up the road to a CAT scale - 20 miles say - to send a macro 3 and call into the live load desk, isn't part of the equation. If you're having problems with overweight issues, keeping your FM informed with a few QualComm messages is adequate.

Of course! Both times, however, the scale was within a mile. On the swing sets leaving from kansas to colorado (drop off), his dispatcher told him specifically to weigh first. Same went with the meat load. My trainer said something like if he were to send a depart message and the weight didn't check out afterwards, he wouldn't get some kind of hourly wage.

Anyway. Our meat load was ready to go.. around 1630! I drove from Danger City all the way back to the Prime spot back in Springfield. Tiiired, but I had fun driving a mile in an extremely narrow "lane" when road construction forced everyone into taking turns down one lane. :p Goodnight, anyway!

That'd be detention, but that's still not right. Even if you did go to the scale, get the load reworked multiple times - and then send macro 3 - it wouldn't matter.

Payroll uses the time macro 3 was sent to search through your GPS tags. They'd use the time you were last at the shipper verified by the GPS tag to set the detention limits. All the going back and forth would be cut out by that. They can also use GPS to determine if you were rolling down the highway when you send a macro 1 arrival message - so that old trick doesn't work any longer either.

both apps ask the EXACT same info, so if there were an issue either your answers changed or left out something etc. filling the app at orientation it literally just to see if you were truthful on your online app they compare the two since you fill them out a week or so more apart. easy to catch misleading info. when i was a PSD working on the pad waitin for a instructor i rode around with that guy, he slapped my hand and i politely informed him that if he touched me again hed pull back broken fingers.. lol everything about orientation is chaotic. i believe by design. it weeds out the ones who cant deal with an ever-evolving and changing course of action. and you find out the ones who have a head on their shoulders and whos the winers
