Oh and all the company drivers going through orientation got to skip ahead of the psd guys in basically every line, except for lunch. Everytime they would pull us up to the office or med check, all you saw was 30-50 faces glowering at you, and you have the overwhelming combination of feelings you're alternating while passing these poor, sweaty and annoyed folks- joy that you're not stuck in some hall, or sitting in a chair waiting for the nurse to feel you up or the flip side of that coin; empathy...because I was there. So during the walk I tried not to make eye contact, I couldn't help but start grinning when we were pushed into the destination. "Thank god I don't have to do anything like PSD."

So, like I said. Hilariously depressing at times. (Mostly depressing for the fresh meat.)

Yeah... read this start to finish:

    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...27-new-prime-inc-what-expect-springfield.html

Loose the cell phone until you hit TnT. If it rings you're gone.
Don't even think of being late to anything. If you're late you're gone.
    Be respectful of the staff.
It's all serious business, and you're being evaluated every second you're there.

Saw a few guys in the company orientation get 86'd for dumb stuff. My favorite was a guy with zero experience that was coming in with his CDL. First question "can I keep my food stamps." Second question "well company drivers get to pick where they go, right?" Third question "I ain't guna have ta take one of them lightweights, right? I got my 50" plasma to stick in that #####."

That dude was gone literally at the end of the that orientation class.

Saw some others fall through, one guy made an accusation of racism (not sure of they booted him, but the woman reviewing his work history just about lost it. Don't quite recall seeing him again after that.) another couple guys failed their drug tests, some others the medical and some lied about work history. This is all just on the company driver side and not psd. I know they're more picky about the psd chaps.

Several in my group got booted for failing the drug screen, couple got arrested for warrants. Few got kicked out for conveniently forgetting to tell them stuff on their apps. One got kicked out because they found out he had a suspended license from his home state.
