That's the correct answer; try another company.
You live in Phoenix so try either DSW Trucking or Knight Transportation.

You and your boyfriend can also train and team with Southern Refrigerated Transport. You'll run lots of miles there running coast to coast. Lots of produce out of California and Pacific Northwest to East Coast and Florida.

There's also KLLM and CRST and Celadon.
Submit a few applications and then choose from the job offers.
Since you and boyfriend want teams; all these will work. I'd put Southern Refrigerated Transport as a first choice though.

Might try covenant. They love teams. They will keep you busy.

Usx is team heavy too. They actually make you team after training. I've never worked there so I have no first hand experience there

I went through orientation with Prime about a month ago. Pretty sure the guy who was covering the tachometer was a older guy with brown hair. I know he is a total jerk and should not be in a classroom full of students learning something new for the first time. He always had a smart remark for everyone if they weren't getting it right their first time. I had to hold my tounge once for him trying to talk me down. I will say the week I came we had about 80 in total and I was in group D also coming in with my permit and we had a much smaller group then the rest. 2 days during the first week my group was super lucky and we got our own sim the whole time. The other days we had people from other places coming in to use sims which took away the few they have for these massive classes. The worst part is that you have to get a instructor to sign off on what you did. This took maybe 10 mins or more to wave one of the two down to come to your sim and watch you. I understand your frustration though, they need more sims and more instructors if they are going to add more students into each class. I herd the last class was 130, probably the one you were in. I hope everything works out with you!!! I passed my pre trip and backing but failed my road test so we are working on that then I'm coming back in to test. I do feel as if your just a number during the training phases, and like the one guy said about how they put as many people as they can and see who sticks. They recently moved the 75 hours until you come back to test to 2 weeks only no matter your hours driven and the 3 month tnt part has been moved to 1 month from what I herd a few days ago. They have more students then instructors right now so that's why they are making all these changes. Best of luck to you and your boyfriend! Everyone has different experiences. I've had my problems with this training process too and trying to talk to someone to help you with questions or anything of that nature is next to impossible. They can sit there and tell you it's your fault but I know it wasn't from what you said. And for the 11-12 extra help, your better off sleeping that extra hour since they make you wake up extremely early and group D is screwed with there last class ended at 11pm and being back at class at 6am or whatever it was.

Hmmmm, churning the students through; must have an extremely high turnover in drivers. What's the attraction there? It can't be the slow, lightweight trucks; so what's the attraction that would cause students endure all that to drive 57/58 mph trucks?

For me at least, coming in with almost nothing, having your way to get here, food and hotel paid for and getting experience, a cdl then getting a job at the end of it. You can do that at a few other company's I know but prime pays .43 cents once your on your own truck (lightweight) then they have a fuel bonus program. The entire time I've been on a truck to it's been 1:1 student, intructor ratio which is also a plus. Still more pluses then negatives for me.

Good question. Also, 8Paws Trucking maybe there was more than just simulation being reviewed in that class. Maybe it is designed to be a little tense to observe how peeps handle adversity, stress, failures. Like you said there are hundreds more people coming in each week. 183 more this Labor Day. That's a lot of competition to drive those pretty trucks. Not everyone learns at the same pace, but those that stick with it and find a way are much more marketable than those that collapse under controlled pressure. Not judging you, but I want to point out that your D class was all caught up and driving their own sims today. Even the ones who were seemingly behind at first. The trainer you had a hard time with ended up pissing a lot of people off, they grumbled and whispered BUT continued on despite his approach. Try again with a new point of view.

LOL pretty trucks, good starting pay, so you go slow, so what? What's the hurry? Speed kills economy and people, especially when just starting out. Prime, for me, has been what I wanted it to be: a good place to start. I schooled with some of the coolest noobs in the country LOL. Love it and the way they set up the campus.
