This comment isn't really directed at you since you already made your decision and bounced. I do wish someone had said to you what I am about to write before you got to the sim class as it might have helped you push through an admittedly sucky experience.
I have a lot of faith and trust in the management of Prime. They have built a hell of a company and treat me very well. So even when I don't quite understand or agree with something, I'll go along as odds are they have a pretty solid reasoning behind it. That does not apply to the sims. I believe the training department has been sold a hell of a bill of goods and has placed entirely too much faith in the value of the sims. They are big, expensive video games and are crap. When it comes to simulating the actual driving experience they fail miserably in my opinion. You can't learn how to drive a truck if you can't feel the truck. I wouldn't sweat getting little sim time. Do what you gotta do to get through orientation week and into an actual truck. That is where you will learn how to drive the truck, not on some expensive toy.
Prime PSD experience - sim time lacking

If you are trying to reaffirm everyone's suspicions that you may have a poor attitude and this is a you problem, you are doing a great job.darthanubis, MidwestResident, Poacher and 3 others Thank this.

Okay, feel better? No bad attitude necessary, I just don't appreciate someone suggesting b.s. on a public forum for voicing my opinion when they have no clue about the details that went on. Seems silly to me. Unless of course they are a company troll listening in than I'm just providing my experience as feedback. No need to attack anyone people get a life.darthanubis and MidwestResident Thank this.

I thank you all for your comments. I'm just not sure where all this anger is coming from, sounds to me like I touched a nerve of a few employees.
Point being, I was taught in an overcrowded classroom with overworked instructors. I choose to post my experience for those who don't want their time wasted, I'm not bashing the company, I don't have a bad attitude, I'm simply providing my feedback, if you don't agree then so be it, doesn't change what really happened from my point of view. Who cares if I or anyone else feels as if they need more than 15 mins to get it, fact still remains students are rushed through the process. And recruiters make promises like we have plenty of time to train someone, etc. Who's at fault? No one. I'm not blaming anyone but merely posting MY EXPERIENCE the program obviously works for some, and just because I had a different experience doesn't make me a bad student or have a bad attitude.
All I am suggesting, I more than learned my lesson with company sponsored training, I will get training through a community college or elsewhere and suggest the same if you don't want to feel rushed in an overcrowded classroom or be around overwhelmed instructors who let racist comments slip due to stress.darthanubis and MidwestResident Thank this. -
Yes I do have a clue of what went on. Your description of what went on took up the majority of first page. Not just that but I've been though the training program before myself. None the less you have an entire thread full people that told you to stick it out, that this was a good company, and you quit. You also were in a group in your class which was behind at 1st but did get caught up with the rest of the class and thus did make it though the orientation process just like you would have had you stayed. And leaving was what you wanted to do that's fine its your choice but don't blame it on prime. Who is gonna pack it up and drive 1300 miles home with 2 days of orientation left, because orientation sucks, then tell their boyfriend who wants to team with her and is already in tnt that he needs to find another job. Like the short term of employment will look good on his record, or that paying back his money due to prime for leaving before his contract is up won't be an inconvenience. All because the short orientation process sucks Lets be honest the reason why you quit is because either you had a bad attitude towards the orientation process or you didn't want be here to begin with.
Trolling??? Again your negative description of prime takes up the majority of 1st page. Yet there are a lot of holes in your argument. Of course I'm gonna defend a company that I've been very successful with, wouldn't you do the same in my shoes? Yet you're calling that trolling, really?Highway101, MidwestResident, n3ss and 2 others Thank this. -
Yes I understand that you want to provide your feedback from your three days of experience with prime but I also understand that you mostly used the opportunity to do so to vent and exaggerate the situation. I have 600, 000 miles with this company and also want to provide feedback that could help others make an employment decision that could depending on the person and what they want out of a company, be a good one in coming here to prime. I do not get paid for it nor have I ever been paid for recruiting anyone nor am i a recruiter I do it purely to help others. The only way their time would be wasted is if making it though orientation were not possible as much as you've tried to paint that picture such is absolutely not the case. Which would be my concern If I were new and looking for a job as I would not want to come cross country for nothing. I would also be looking at the quality of the training which after 3 days of a 2-3 month training program you are now giving your feedback on. I can tell you that we have a good training program and I have a lot of respect for the psd/tnt instructors here they put a lot into what they do. What I would not be heavily concerned with was if the orientation was miserable though its been explained to you why the orientation is what it is, its a test, used to weed out those who couldn't hack it. I'm just not seeing the validity of your complaints.Last edited: Sep 7, 2015

From what I see and interpret from this thread, along with other threads on Prime, Prime seems to be a top of the line trucking company that both beginners and experienced people would like to work for.
It looks as though Prime can be as choosy as they want, they have the pick of the litter.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
