@Veryblessed you need to read this ladies story for starters.
Back on the road. Lease purchase with JB Hunt
You have to be incredibly thick skinned to make it in the world of trucking.
I have 2 questions -
1) What was the smell?
2) What is TNT?
It is very difficult to get a professional trainer. It is a bit of a freak show at the trainer / trainee level.
I applaud your story, and thank you for sharing.
The guys that have commented are good guys. They really are. Driving is very mentally tough. Humor is very dark, albeit well meaning.
There's probably 20,000 posts on here speaking negatively about Prime. I'm not a fan.
Your screen name says it all. You should understand that blessings come in many forms, and you don't always see it at first. Could be The Lord just saved you a lot of grief.
@Chinatown will help you with a company.
@UturnGirl you gotta read this lol. Uturngirl probably burn the guys truck down lmfao.stillwurkin, austinmike, Cattleman84 and 4 others Thank this. -

Indeed...I felt The Lord telling me not to do it from the very beginning...we struggle financially...problems with health and disabilities...some physical...some not....the biggest sign I can recall was when the trainer showed up ad midnight at a travel center...in the dark...takes my luggage...then asks us to come back in a few hours so he could sleep....NEON SIGN RIGHT THERE!!! Who does that...I mean I don't think he was trying to ransack me by going thru my luggage but...I should've asked for my things back instead of leaving them with him...my luggage was plenty heavy...3 months worth of clothes, toiletries, bare essentials....Prime has PSD Training and TNT Training....PSD is the first phase after your first week of Orientation...Prime finds students a PSD trainer and takes them otr for a few weeks so students can try and gain driving experience and to learn how to fuel, check tires, couple etc,...After a few weeks on the road with the Trainer...the Trainer and student go back to the Terminal they're from and test out to get CDL test from DOT Examiners there on the pad....they give a student 3 chances to pass test or go home...then if you pass...Prime assigns student a TNT Trainer for the second phase of training...TNT Training consists of 3 months OTR with your assigned Trainer or 30k miles.... whichever comes first...I never received PSD Trainer and the local program where I was left behind at...gets new Students every Monday...for one or two Instructors...I had one Instructor and then two of our DOT Examiners helped me to pass the test by showing me how to do the driving manuevers and learning all parts of the tractor, trailer, in cab, air brakes...you know...Pretrip...this is the belt driven radiator, it's not cracked, bent or broken, all wires are connected...and the belt has no more than half an inch play.....see...I remember...but the problem for me was never getting PSD Trainer and having drivetime experience....I had a CDL class A License...but zero driving experience....my truck driving career almost ended before it started...by The Grace of God...nothing much happened....I didn't hit anyone's property...no vehicles....no tickets....just the fear of God and being blamed for trusting any of them.

Try this company & drop by the office and apply in person.
Be sweet and polite and explain that you need more training and ask if they'll hire you as a driver trainee.
Tell whoever you talk to that you're applying for a "driver trainee" position.
