Just finished my first lease load. 3 drops 2 claims. It was a preloaded trailer from SPRINGMO so locked and sealed. No control there. Whoever loaded it apparently needs a lesson in stacking boxes on pallets. My 02 had crushed boxes and was missing 10 cases. My 90 today had about 4 crushed but only 1 was bad enough that they refused it.

Now I'm sitting waiting on a load. I'm in Husdon NY. Nice and crisp weather and sun. No snow so I'm lucky there.

So I've got this box of prebrowned breaded chicken breast patties to get rid of. I wonder how many I can stuff into the freezer in my truck fridge and if they will keep a day or two in the actual fridge part. The box says deep fry but I'm thinking just a little oil in my Ninja 3 in 1 will work okay.

Good luck on your lease! That stuff will be fine for 3 or 4 days, use the nose test.

For the new ones... I've been doing this trucking thing for awhile now, and in my experience jumping into a lease truck right out of training is not the best plan. It only takes one QC message to get into the next lease orientation from the company side. Many new drivers really struggle with starting a new business on top of learning how to drive the truck efficiently. My advice is always to run a year or two on the company side and get this trucking stuff figured out before you start a trucking business in a lease truck. The deck is stacked against you with 4 out 5 walking away in their first lease... this statistic is from an individual who worked in the leasing office. I really hope Charlami is that 1 out of 5 who is a great success.

Especially with Winter rearing its ugly head very early. Better to stay with the known of company-side than jump right into the unknown and uncertainty of a lease right away. Don't get misdirected by big money claims thrown around. Learn all you can then try a lease. You'll be better off for it.

Hi I am new to trucking but I have had a great boyfriend that wad helpful and i traveled all summet with him give or take a week here and there.I had time to adjust to trucking life.:biggrin_25520: But now I have buckled down to pass the tests. I am a PSD student.I got sent home because of a medication but I just wish I knew in advance. I now have to wait. I am so ready to go and get the Wheels under me.
A little about me. 48 yr old mom non smoker non Drinker But not a stick in the mud. A fun thing is that i am 4 10 and 15 lbs over weight But it will be less when i get back. My work history is a Corporate Credit Collections Manager for 15 yrs, while working working special needs children on horseback, President/CEO within 5 yrs Of the services to many communities it was a surprise to get an honor of "Woman of the Year" From a local Autistic Group. I owned a groomer shop for cats and dogs, rented an apt, And gave up my truck to start over here with you all. Oh i gave up my husband too. Lol
I have been learning trucking the past six months so I am ready to get rollin snd make a difference in the trucking industry. I think the SHOCK value of such a small woman in a tractor trailer is so much fun, it may be more fun than I had with my horse trailer and f250. I could maneuver that thing in the smallest of residence driveways to deliver horses.
Well it is nice to meet you all and hope to you in Dec 2014 at Prime in Springfield MO
