DOT regs allow only one CDL. It will include your "regular" driving authorizations. In my case, the document I get will have "Commercial Driver License" across the top of the card and I will have all the sight limitations (Must wear glasses) and a Motorcycle endorsement, plus any commercial endorsements like hazmat, tanker, double/triple, and such.
Michigan is a funny state and Mass might be, too, so check with your DMV for the specifics. Or relocate to MO and not worry about it! Might be cheaper than Taxachusetts! -
Ya mass is the same in the fact of the cdl set up, but I wish I could relocate but I would lose on my house
, and I would love to drive too I may have to get the cdl then jump in

Ask the recruiter about this, and how they work it, and she said"i have been doing this a long time, and I have not heard of anyone having a problem" so I guess we need to find someone who is a MA resident who went thru this to tell us the real scoop, and if there will be an issue or not..
DenaliDad Thanks this. -
figures, who was you recruiter so i dont get the ame person, and is ther anyone on here that ran into this?

Prime used to train in Salt Lake City too. Don't know if they still do that or not. Be prepared to make jack squat for the next year if you sign on with them. And for God's sake don't let them talk you into leasing.
-
i personally ouldnt leasy anyway, since i am a mechanic, who is factory certified myself, i would buy my own rig since i can repair it myself outside of warranty issues
-
Don't train in Salt Lake. You can expect around $800 gross before taxes on the average - as long as freight holds up this year. Unless you're planning on lots of not rolling down the road. Don't forget to be putting some away for the slow freight period after the winter holidays. Freight has a yearly cycle to it...
Leasing? Can be very profitable, if you know what you're doing. That takes time, and is not for a newb. -
So that means if I start now/before the end of the year, I will have my training during the slow time??? will we get a lot of runs or do a lot of sitting??

Depends on how many loads are available n your FM
