Best wishes and safe journeys to you and yours GunMetal - thanks for the reply and for starting this thread. Will be looking forward to reading about your lease experience pulling tanks for Prime, and if I get hired on maybe we'll cross paths someday in the real world. Adios.

How'd you get in without a password ?

I don't know where you're getting your info and I'm asking you substantiate it . This IS an open forum and not YOUR thread . One reason it's open is to allow knowledgeable drivers to keep newbies from passing on recruiting BS.

This is a thread about my tanker training at Prime. I'm not telling anyone to do any thing. It's an informative thread about my experience. If you read the admin post your are supposed to be making your own thread to complain or make your point. They have a section for that. This is not it. This section is to give information about Prime.
I'm sorry for what happened to your friend but venting your frustration on this forum is immature and your not helping anyone. The people reading this want to know about Prime Tanker and not your hate of leasing. Thank you for reading and this thread must be a little popular because you're here but let the grownups make there own decisions.
My choice is to lease but yours may be different. Do what's right for you but let others have the freedom to look, learn and choose. -
Oh, I'm getting my information from being on 6 lease trucks in the past 3 months while training at Prime. I've leased before and am bringing that knowledge with me. I ran the numbers on a per load and weekly total basis. I feel that "I" can make money here because even the worst of my trainers were making a profit.
You results my vary. You have to try for yourself or find some pkace you feel you can be successful. Successful people do everything in their power to be successful. It's a choice. I'm just sharing my experience. -
I guess it never occurred to you carriers make sure L/O's with trainees get the best loads to help suck the trainee into leasing . Also note in my quote referring to the former Prime L/O .
I agree some make it and wish you well . The odds are against most newbies though and they shouldn't be expecting to make more than company drivers .

Prime would rather have you go company. They don't push leasing at Prime. Maybe your friend should have trained. Even you know the trainers are making good money at Prime. Thank you for sharing.

Rick... Prime's dispatch system precludes that for the most part by assigning loads as you come to the top of the dispatch queue. It's take it or leave it, and if you decline you go back to the bottom of the queue. You get the best available load in your area. Training trucks only have the advantage of being able to access team freight.RickG Thanks this.

One more thing:
Tanker Division averages 2000 miles a week. The only time I was truly running team was on a dedicated account in St. Louis. The profits I saw were on solo miles. They are doing the same thing they would be doing without me except now they get q break here and there. Besides the dedicated I was only on 2 hot loads that needed a team to run them in 3 months.
Make your own decision with this information.briarhopper Thanks this. -
If you look at the O/O weekly averages on Prime's website tanker pay is slightly below flatbed and refrigerated . Only about $100 a week but that's over $5,000 a year .
