It's mostly an automated logbook; it does the math for you. You still have to plan the trips, and figure how to get the most out of the HOS regulations. It does announce when your hours are running out, and when you screwed up.

Living in the Houston area, if you want to pull tankers leaving Prime would be your best bet. Just about every tanker company (non food grade) has an operation in the Houston area. It would be chemical stuff and the pay overall is better than pulling those square trailers. Plus, getting home is pretty easy as well (I live out by Katy). Getting home every other weekend is usually pretty simple.

For who? I didn't rip Prime or promote any company. I just stated the reality. The OP shows The Woodlands as his home and mentioned tankers. Assuming it is the Woodlands Texas, it is a suburb of Houston and thus my points are all valid. -
Prime only pulls food-grade loads in tankers. I don't really think any of us are really qualified to comment on how our tanker division works, since their operation is so vastly different than our reefer and flatbed divisions.

Prime does also have a tanker division, Last i checked, they weren't square
