Wow notarps ..... I guess you were as close to the whole passmore /prime thing as i was.... And you got the shaft of the situation.....
I was out there in that time frame that you are talking about.... Probably ran into you a time or two and did not even know it!

I get your point Notarps... but, c'mon man... as a soon-to-be Prime newbie, I'm not worried about having to buy some $40 load locks when I get there.

Okay... I know it is the PRINCIPLE of it that irks you... and I agree on that (I am all for principle), but in reality... that's not much out of pocket.

Now on the FLATBED side... that stuff adds up, and I agree that the company should definitely pay for it. That IS jacked up. :biggrin_25513: I haven't heard anybody on here disagree about that though.

I didn't know your whole story until I read it just a few minutes ago... and I believe what you wrote to be the truth... it definitely sounds like you got a raw deal. The flatbed side does sound like it is indeed "jacked up."

I will try my luck on the Reefer side though and hope for the best. I am going in with a good and positive attitude. :biggrin_25525:

Yeah man... I am definitely steering clear of the lease. Even if times were good (and they're clearly not!) and all of the L/Os were making money hand over fist, I would still go Company until I learned the ropes and how things work. I would never start a business in an industry where I was still green... especially in this jacked up economy! :biggrin_25513:

What was promised and what happened on an handshake deal went south with prime....

I wish you the best my friend! That is far from my whole story and I went in there with a positive attitude as well. As a veteran driver like I have said most vets won't take a bunch of C R A P from a co. I start getting lied to I start getting ticked off. Tell me the truth even if I don't like what I hear, but start jacking me around and I am out the door.

It might be OK to start with for training. They seem to have a long training period so you will probably be trained well, what I don't like is the pep talks they get as this is normal get used to getting gouged and look to bring others in and tell them how great it is. Like I said if anyone bucks up about someone speaking out about prime it is always a brand new driver primed by prime. Why is that? Why do these drivers that have nothing to compare with as far as trucking goes gets so defensive about prime?? Could it be that they are so long in training and getting programed on how great prime is? I don't know, but I have never seen, heard or read from a exp hand getting so defensive about a co like you was talking bad about their mama or something unless it is someone who is recruiting heavily to make ends meet...

Okay... I've already admitted YOU got screwed-over. Happy?

    Now... let me say this:

You are dealing with the flatbed division. Let me say that again... YOU ARE DEALING WITH THE FLATBED DIVISION... which is a small portion of Prime Inc. When you say "Prime is the most jacked over company" make sure that you also say that it is the FLATBED DIVISION that is jacked over.

I work on the reefer side - and in the Reefer Division, c#*p like that doesn't happen. Never had a problem with dispatch, getting directions - only once had a problem with a shipper who wasn't open - dirt bag operation in Laredo, but hey! - that's Laredo. Your beef is with FLATBED DIVISION - not Prime as a whole. So get real, and post the whole truth... not just what you'd like it to be!

As an employee of Prime who has no connection with management of any sort or flatbed operations, I apologize for your experience. Because honestly, that's not what generally happens in this company in my experience.
