No mystery about it. That's the way it's been the entire 11 months I've been here. If they fired his FM, they'd have to fire mine and probably a half dozen others in Pittston. Not saying there aren't good FMs in PRIPIT - there are, they just seem to be the minority in my experience.

Prime 48/CA and Prime NE Regional aren't even remotely similar.

    **edit**

My QC just beeped. I sent my empty mac in at 0915 this morning.I still had almost 10 hours on my 11. So I finally get a load over 5 hours later that picks up 20 miles away.....tomorrow. Another wasted day just as BC outlined above. This is the norm up here.

I run up there all the time, and I don't have that problem. The real question perhaps, is what were you expecting? Tell me, what's your average settlement?

Of course you do fine up here. You have a decent FM. I have a theory - just a theory - that good FMs go and get their drivers loads and the bad/lazy FMs sit and wait for the planner to put something on them. I'll go into this in more detail later. I haven't tallied it lately, but it's below 2k miles a week. You would agree 2500/week isn't too much to ask for a guy who stays out 4 weeks at a time? I would, and have, stayed out longer, but what's the point if I'm just going to sit? May as well work on my golf game if I ain't making money:biggrin_25519:. I have a couple must-be-home events upcoming and if there's one thing my FM is excellent at, it's getting me home whenever I need to. After that though, it's time to move on unfortunately. I plan to make an in depth post once I've made the jump with all my 'bottom line stats'. Not that anyone cares, but it'll be off my chest and provide a different view point aside from all the 'I <3 Prime' threads.

Well, the place doesn't suit everyone. If I was in your place I'd be moving along as well. When I ran the company side I was over 2500 per week, and that's not too much to ask for.

Glad I dont do regional. Too many short runs when you limit your working area.

I would be very interested in seeing more about your situation. Not all FM's are great people, and it is possible that you might "fit" better with a different FM before jumping off the deep end. It is also possible to switch from NE to USA and try your hand. I am not one to pitch in the towel right off the bat. I have great respect for Big Cheese, and he seemed to tell a similar story if I remember correctly. Of course, a story is just that.....and only one of the three sides.

That's not totally correct though. I've spoken to many of the NE regional guys delivering to places well outside of the region. How about Pauls Valley OK, for instance?

Didnt know they went that far out of the region... If they go that far, does it still count as NE Regional...

The guys I've run across say it does - but they get the majority of their trips closer to the NE. There's a lot of runs up to Michigan as well.

Yep, we get to the midwest, southeast, etc. In fact, I live in Ohio. I don't think its a coincidence that some of my best weeks have come when I've gotten to the central time zone. It doesn't happen often or at least for me it hasn't. Maybe 5 times total and most have been 'flukes' or 'with purpose' (FL dealer in SPRINGMO for instance). Of course, I've had tours where I left the house and never went west of I81 until I went home 4+ weeks later.

    *edit*

I've actually been dispatched (night crew) to CO. No chains - no go /sigh. Just sayin, IP is right about us not strictly in the NE/Midatlantic. You only get that extra nickle for the loads that p/u or del. in those areas though.
