I couldn't do it. I'd be wanting to watch Two and a Half Men and he be wanting to play XBOX.

I said get out there and pretrip the truck. Check the oil again. :biggrin_2559: I don't care it's raining. You should of brought a rain coat with you. Don't be all wet when you come back either.

your right about that... a couple posts later you would contradict yourself.

Line 1 if you're not getting paid for it and it's something you have to do or you'll lose all self-respect. Line 4 if they're paying you.

Paid or not, if you're out of hours, best put it on Line 1. Oh, heck I wouldn't even log it.

I know I am late posting on this paticular subject, however, reading all the posts/replies, etc. I found this one to be very UPFRONT, HONEST and TO THE POINT. Now, I know I have been reading and posting on this site for some time. I am no way an expert in driving a truck. In TD's defense I wasn't there when the "incidents" with 2 of his trainers occured. However, what I do know is that this forum on all training companies has repeatedly, and I say again, repeatedly has stated that after you earn your CDL that training is run as a team.

Now with that being said, I am sure and certain that you are expected to know how to drive the dang gone truck when you receive your CDL. At PRIME you are with an Instructor for 10k miles. No less. I have heard possibly more if you need the extra practice. You also have simulator time, yard time, etc. You are training in the "real world" while getting your CDL at Prime.

With that being said, I fully understand why the trainer asked you to drive. He should expect you to be able to drive. In fact he shouldn't doubt your ability to at least drive straight and down a highway. Now, I will agree he should have reservations on your overall ability to handle diffulcult situations that you have yet to face, other ins and outs that you haven't been fully faced with yet.......however, if you encounter ANY and I repeat ANY situation that you think you CANNOT handle, THEN STOP THE TRUCK WHEN SAFE TO DO SO, wake your trainer and ASK HIM FOR ADVICE. END OF STORY. PERIOD. Any good trainer shouldn't have a problem with that. They might be a tad upset to be awaken in the middle of the night, however, once awake, I am sure all will be well. Better safe than sorry in my book.

Also, running team is like a marriage. Its TWO complete strangers trying to live life on the road living in a space not as big as a jail cell. Marriage is hell at times and I am sure team driving isn't pleasant at times either. You should have given it time. You could always try to rationalize with the trainer. Be a man and state your case in a way that is honorable, mature and respectful. Remember it is his/her truck. Its like borrowing something. You want to take care of it and return it the way you got it.

Anyway, I know I am rambling, but this is my .02 worth. I just want to say to Sazook thanks again for an insightful post. Also thanks to TruckerMike, U2Exit, IP and the other guys at Prime for being honest and not trying to sugarcoat all that goes on at Prime and in trucking for that matter. TruckerMike is right, TRUCKING isn't for everyone. Its either in the blood or it isn't. When I was in the Navy, I was stationed in Japan. I was always asked how did you like Japan? I said you either Love it or Hate it. You might grow to like it, but you'll never Love it. Thats how I feel about Trucking. You either Love it or Hate it. Simple as that. Why do something you just like? DO SOMETHING YOU LOVE instead.

This is Maverick77 signing off. 10-4 over and out.

You know me well! Good for you!

You know what I think is wrong with this industry? People who are constantly complaining and whining about their situation. New guys who think they know everything, and feel a company owes them anything. If you want to know what's wrong with the industry, look in the mirror.

Funny you bring that up. While I might not have written a book, in a PM, I shared with you a link to my personal blog (which I do make money on, actually). In that blog, I never share who I work for, but I told you privately that when you read it, you can know it's all about Prime. I wrote multiple times a week about my training experience while I was going through it. If you bothered to read it, maybe you would have understood what you were getting into. I went through it, my friend. I know what the training is like. It aint fun, easy, and is very taxing emotionally. It also separates those who can cut it, and those who cant.

What you're missing is that many of us are trying to warn you that you might not be ok. Even if you do find another company, thing may not turn out the way you think they will. Your attitude has to change. If it doesn't, you're in for a rough ride. But what do we know? You have 3 weeks experience.

First of all, thanks for the compliment. Second, it does matter, because it's one of your many contradictions. Seems you are skewing stories in your favor instead of telling the truth. That's why everybody keeps pushing you on it. Why do your stories keep changing?

Nope, not perfect. Which is why I was a "yes man" in training. You might want to give that a try your third time around instead of arguing with your trainers when they tell you to stop. Next time, stop.

This is a big point you're missing. You aren't going to find a much better training program than Prime has. At least not at the major companies. Just about all of them have shorter training programs, but just about all of them run their trucks as team operations too. Your expectations are too high.

If Prime was a great company, you probably should have just buckled down and gotten through the next few months. You would have gone solo and been home free. Maybe it wasn't all your fault, but judging from your posts, I believe that it wasn't all Prime's fault either.

Shows that Prime is more selective on who they let through. Good.

It's funny, just 6 days ago, from TODAY, you were doing fine with your second trainer and knew fully how the training program worked. Less than a week ago from TODAY you said this? More questions raised.

I just said what a trainer should be like.

I didn't say I was training material. I also was being funny. So take a chill pill.

I'm a soloist! No teaming here.
