Prime and I have agreed to part ways, I'm the problem here these two trainers have trained others which is a lie, They have had co-drivers on their trucks but they were not trained... I am letting everyone know that goes to Prime that you are cheap labor for a team operation, There is nothing more to it, I wish it was different but it isn't so it is what it is. Take Care. I will see you soon out there. TD.

CW Things changed quickly just like the one day he was Ok with me joking about him getting ahead of me with the flowers unload and the very next day he jumped my stuff for the exact same comment, only by this time we both were a bit tired of flowers... I am off of the second trainers truck and since he didn't turn in his tickets or scan his loads I got paid for the miles I ran with the first trainer a whopping $21.09 this weeks check go figure!!. Take Care. TD.

While I don't condone what the trainers did, I think you're not too familiar with trainer outfits. They use students for cheap labor and the trainers are expected to try and have everything going full throttle in 10 to 14 days, sometimes less. I should know, I'm currently a trainer. It's not fun for us either when we're given team loads with a guy we don't trust.

My last student was on my truck 18 days too long as he didn't know anything I taught him 2 days prior to him leaving my truck and I literally stayed up 20 hours to watch him drive and then do my shift. Never again.

Well I'm not sure what you are saying here??? I did everything I could to try and keep the rocks from flying with this last guy, but I will be darned if I have to even watch what jokes I pull because I don't know if he is being serious about the work this load or not? I'm not going to shelter myself around these guys, I think but Prime doesn't that these guys are as much the fault that things didn't work out as I am, The first guy just woke up one morning and said he didn't want to train anymore he said he was finished with training and that wanted me off the truck as soon as I could get off of it, He had a personality issue with himself, I did nothing to him, But it is what it is, I thought I had done my home work but come to find out someone is covering up about these clowns that Prime call "Trainers" they are no moree then taking advantage of the system. TD.

Unfortunately its kinda the luck of the draw. There are some guys that get awesome training with Prime or Central or Swift and even Stevens but then there are the few that get the shaft. It sucks when a company does everything they can to get 30 newbies in with trainers and then don't pre-screen their trainers enough to make sure they will do a decent job. :biggrin_25513: Hopefully you will find another company that you can try with and have better luck.

TreyDavid: This is neither negative, nor positive.

I don't know how long you've been driving, but we all have to start off somewhere. Every human being that you see behind the wheel of a truck had to start off somewhere. No one ever said that truck driving is easy in the beginning. People are away from loved ones, and deal with the usual over the road stressors such as company office employees, state police, traffic jams, and unsafe motorists in general. But, to my main point.

If you went to some sort of institution to help earn your licence, then how much training do you need? Licensed drivers are ALREADY supposed to know how to drive. The whole purpose of a training program is to get new drivers accustomed to company policies, customer service as far as how to deal with shippers and receivers, how to properly complete paperwork for pay purposes, and how to properly fill out a logbook and complete daily inspections. Anything else such as help with backing or manuvering around tight spots, then that's when the trainer really steps in.

Not to sound too harsh, but you're being a baby about this whole thing. You are not out there to make friends initially. That comes later. You sit with a trainer to prove to the company that as a newhire, that you can safely operate and maintain a commercial motor vehicle without having your hand held. Yes, it sucks at first. Yes, the trainer can be a real pain. Yes, you temporarily work as cheap labor as a team. Nothing is easy, but if everything were handed down to us with no effort, will anything ever be worthwhile?

Sorry to hear about your situation, but maybe the main problem lies within yourself first. So, if you find yourself under a trainer again, then drive safe.

Jim, This goes to show that you really don't know what it was that I went thru, You can call me all the names in the book and I will come back with more that you have never heard of, I don't think it was me, I tried to look at both sides of the coin but this is what the company saw, They only saw that I would not listen to these guys when they would yell at me and scare me into doing what I was already going to do, I got in a few tight spots but I never switched seats to get them to get me out of these tight spots I told them that if I got myself in them I could figure a way out of them, These two guys had no communication skills not a bit, AT ALL, The last one told me like this "Take these things(handing me the locks) and put them on the thing back there(the inspection door and the main door) and then put this thing(a seal) thru the hole on the thing where you put these things and let me know which numbers you put in which hole" He wanted me to go put the locks on the inspection door as well as the main doors to the reefer then put seals on the inspection door as well as the reefer door but had no mind as to what he even was talking about. These guys were in it for the wrong reason, But whatever happens from here orward it doesn't matter as I'm not going back to Prime knowing what I know now... Take Care. TD.

You didn't read one word I said, did you? And who was calling you names? Whatever, good luck in life. That attitude won't ever get you anywhere in this world.
