Prime and I have agreed to part ways, I'm the problem here these two trainers have trained others which is a lie, They have had co-drivers on their trucks but they were not trained... I am letting everyone know that goes to Prime that you are cheap labor for a team operation, There is nothing more to it, I wish it was different but it isn't so it is what it is. Take Care. I will see you soon out there. TD.

While I don't condone what the trainers did, I think you're not too familiar with trainer outfits. They use students for cheap labor and the trainers are expected to try and have everything going full throttle in 10 to 14 days, sometimes less. I should know, I'm currently a trainer. It's not fun for us either when we're given team loads with a guy we don't trust.
My last student was on my truck 18 days too long as he didn't know anything I taught him 2 days prior to him leaving my truck and I literally stayed up 20 hours to watch him drive and then do my shift. Never again.Yodler Thanks this. -

Unfortunately its kinda the luck of the draw. There are some guys that get awesome training with Prime or Central or Swift and even Stevens but then there are the few that get the shaft. It sucks when a company does everything they can to get 30 newbies in with trainers and then don't pre-screen their trainers enough to make sure they will do a decent job.
Hopefully you will find another company that you can try with and have better luck.
Gears Thanks this. -
TreyDavid: This is neither negative, nor positive.
I don't know how long you've been driving, but we all have to start off somewhere. Every human being that you see behind the wheel of a truck had to start off somewhere. No one ever said that truck driving is easy in the beginning. People are away from loved ones, and deal with the usual over the road stressors such as company office employees, state police, traffic jams, and unsafe motorists in general. But, to my main point.
If you went to some sort of institution to help earn your licence, then how much training do you need? Licensed drivers are ALREADY supposed to know how to drive. The whole purpose of a training program is to get new drivers accustomed to company policies, customer service as far as how to deal with shippers and receivers, how to properly complete paperwork for pay purposes, and how to properly fill out a logbook and complete daily inspections. Anything else such as help with backing or manuvering around tight spots, then that's when the trainer really steps in.
Not to sound too harsh, but you're being a baby about this whole thing. You are not out there to make friends initially. That comes later. You sit with a trainer to prove to the company that as a newhire, that you can safely operate and maintain a commercial motor vehicle without having your hand held. Yes, it sucks at first. Yes, the trainer can be a real pain. Yes, you temporarily work as cheap labor as a team. Nothing is easy, but if everything were handed down to us with no effort, will anything ever be worthwhile?
Sorry to hear about your situation, but maybe the main problem lies within yourself first. So, if you find yourself under a trainer again, then drive safe. -

You didn't read one word I said, did you? And who was calling you names? Whatever, good luck in life. That attitude won't ever get you anywhere in this world.
