Thanks bud! Im not a recruiter, I am now a trainer and am going to the house to make room for my first partner. That is what I will be calling my trainees in front of people because no one wants to be called the trainee. Besides that, I would hope in a few days I would be able to introduce them as my friends as well. I owned a business for 20 before i gave it to my son and came out here to run the road. So now I am ready to teach others to own a business and how to maximize their *$$$* at the same time. I know that I have made some mistakes and I can teach others not too before them actually do.
Be good and be safe out there

thanks for the info, i'm going out with southern cal on wednesday have been abscent in trucking for over 3 years they told me i would be going out with a trainer for 2 to 4 weeks. hope my trainer thinks the same you do. keep your same attitude -
I hope so too. There are some great guys over here! First thing you want to do is to let your trainer know what you are looking to accomplish out of your training. This way he will know what you guys need to work on. If you are looking to get your own truck then he can teach you to run a businees and make the best $$$. If you sit down with him and tell him your business plan and your goals and he is not into that them go to the next one. Chances are though that you will have no problems whatsoever.
Good luck bud

after we put in our 5-6 weeks and we get our own trucks do we get to go home to put things we need in the trucks? I 'm guessing the trucks dont come with a mini fridge. right? -
sounds real good to me i guess.
the thing i am fighting not only with Prime but other companies is that my exp. is not current. my wife was Military and we were sent over seas for 3 years. so now i cant just go do a road test and get in to a truck. for O.T.R.
I am currently driveing in the local area so i have cureent exp. driving jus tnot in the O.T.R. that they want.
So this will have to be one of those deals i will find someplace that will hire me and get in to a truck then go out and find a companie i like.
i hate to do it that way but i cant affored to go back to trainee pay and also spend 30-60,000 in a truck as one. -

Yeah i agree with that semi retired. but i actually am in a place i can stay home and still make a living . just not the one i prefer to make . Would rather have some extra money in my pocket.
I understand the ins. stuff. but at the same time is it really for 60,000 miles?
If you average 5,000 miles a week
you would have to drive for 12 weeks on a trainers truck.
Seems a bit extreme to me for this. then to add insult to injury you are considered a first year again.
Something for those looking at Prime.
DO NOT GET ME WRONG IT IS A GOOD COMPANY!! Just in my case it is not the best choice for right now.
Thanks for the info. Semi Retired. -
i don't know how far they hire in texas but maverick will hire you being abscent from trucking that long i'm in the same boat i have'nt drove in over three years they accepted my appilcation but i had a accident in april of 2007 and that wanted a year on it thats ok i found another company that will hire me southern cal/eagle and both maverick and southern cal said i wouldn't be out with a trainer for two or four weeks. if you don't want to go down that road you can always find a training company in your area that does refresher courses. hope this helps -
thanks for the info. I will see what i can find out
