You will have plenty of time to practice and all of us trainers have to take extra classes our self to train you. Most of the drivers at prime are outstanding people to begin with so there should not be a problem and if there is then you can get another trainer. As far as those who complain and cry about Prime it is due to them I assure you. Lease op is not for those who do not know how to run a business or are not willing to do so. One of them literally thought that they were going to get a w2 and not a 1099 so they spent all of the $$$ instead of putting 20% away for Uncle Sam. So they bad mouth Prime because they were ignorant of the facts. Also I saw on that sight that they started there posts with I heard this and I heard that. Rumors do not make it true. But please please please do not make any decision about anything without educating yourself and then base your decision on an educated though. Life is too short to mess it up for ant period of time.

Yes, we do have trainers for women or if your husband has his own truck for 3 months then he can take trainers class and train you himself but husbands seem to be more critical and demanding than the regular trainers and they also will take over if you dont feel comfortable and you dont learn enough to pass the test

Mav has probably one of the best turn over rates. I do not get by a yard much, but daytona does weekly. He could tell you what the turnover rate is.

I never started there but I wish that I did. They will keep you as busy as you want to be. Make sure that you have a goal and a business plan that you want to obtain and then share it with your DM so that he will know where you want to be as well. If it seems that he is not interested in your plan then get rid of him. If you want to run hard and make good $$$ then I have Cody Foster and he will run you as hard or as harder than you want to go. If you have any ? or concerns that you want to discuss. Simply ask.:biggrin_25525:

I'm a flatbedder with little more than three months OTR. My only problem with Prime is the excruciatingly low starting pay. How do you handle that? Can you get enough miles to overcome the lack of decent starting pay?

The starting pay is going to be 34cpm to start as you know. Depending on the company that you work for, here is my suggestion to you. If you want to remain a company driver then I would probably stay where you are if you can handle it. If you want to stay with flatbed then there are great companies out there right now like Melton and Arrow out of Tulsa OK. If you want to be an o/o you have a couple of choices when it comes to prime. (1) If you have 8 full months at the company that you are with right now then you can come over and get your own truck in about 4 days and start making about $1250-$1600 depending on how hard you run and if you know how to manage your books. That takes a bit of practice.:biggrin_25520: (2) You can come over here and you can go with a trainer for a bit. I think they count some of your miles of OTR towards this and you can get in your own truck at that point. If you want to stay company then most any company will do so long as they are big enough to have freight contracts and small enough to understand that you need a check. Rule of thumb to me is that I do not do OTR for $700-$800 a week when I can make that at home. ALWAYS have a goal that you want to obtain. This will require a business plan. Work every day to obtain that goal. Make sure that you have a series of smaller goals that have to be obtained to reach the larger one. That way you can start to see your progress. If you need help, I am always here to lend a hand.:biggrin_25519:
