They have two company driver areas. RTC is company driver. CHD is company driver regional. Why not go to their website yourself and check it out?

Ive been lurking here for awhile.... I have read soo many Threads/Posts. I filled out an application on Sat. and was waiting for a response. (It said I would be contacted in 48 hours)

Called this morning (Tues) its been almost 4 days. They said they had received it and that some of the investigation had been completed, and the only thing left to check out was my work history. He said I should get a call in the morning.

I have a question, but first I have to give you some background....

I recently lost my 2nd job (I still have one). The job I still have is paying ZERO, due to training issues of the employer and a new law that I thought would grandfather me in and has not, yet I am still an employee (employed 19 months). I am in the process of getting another job (I would never pin all my hopes on the Trucking Career). I have had a total of 3 jobs in the last 10 years with my current job overlapping the other two by 6 months or more beggining to end, and the job I lost I only worked there for 11 months....

    Job 1 (04/96-03/07)
    Job 2 (08/06- present)
    Job 3 (03/07-02/08

Will getting a temporary job/jobs (up until I leave for training) look bad on my employment history? or, cause problems with the whole process?

Any suggestions if this comes up in my interviews.

    Thanks

Where are you living at that it is already Wednesday? This is Tuesday, 2/26 and the reply probably means 48 hours during the business week. Just curious.

My mistake... Yes, he said they started processing it on Monday. The reason I called is the website didnt make the distinction between weekend and weekdays and I wanted to make sure it was received.

Check out what? I don't even have a cdl yet. I was wondering If I could make it a year and not be pushed into a lease? Do they keep enough company drivers around or what? thanks

I called and talked to a recruiter this morning. I just wanted to ask a few preliminary questions such as if they hired from my area. Before the conversation was over, the recruiter was faxing me papers and checking into my background. Man, they work fast. I told her that I hadn't made up my mind yet and that I had lots of questions. She told me that was alright, that she would answer any questions that I may have. One thing that bothered me a little was that she couldn't see to remember from one moment to the next what we had just discussed. She also seemed to gloss over a question that I asked which concerned me somewhat. I asked if a prospective student to their school needed a learner's permit before coming to the school, and if so, which endorsements do we need such as hazmat, doubles, triples, etc. She couldn't answer and told me that would be handled at the school. Well, that is a lot of information to absorb in a couple of days so I don't know about that. She did tell me that they do not haul hazardous material at this point and that they do not use doubles or triples either.

Is this typical? Can you count on what recruiters tell you? I may be being a little too cautious at this point after having read some of the horror stories here.

I called yesterday (Tues) the person said they were processing my application that I submitted online on Sat.... Said they had my driving record and that they were in the process of verifying my work history and that I should call back Wed morning. (gave me a ext. # and their name)

Called this morning, no answer at extension, so I leave a message.... Call three more times throughout the day no answer even though the message said that the person would be in the office until 5pm central. I left a total of 2 brief messages that I was interested in my status and that I had a few questions.

Cant imagine any problems they have with my app.... I really dont want to start another job (even if it temporary) Will it "gumm" up the whole process of me having more than 3 jobs in 3 years?

I want to clarify some things and get some answers. Although my work history shows my loyalty over the last 12 years, it really makes me look soft when it comes to the type of work trucking involves. I want to account for my military experience and local delivery (non CDL) experience if this is what has my application sitting on their fence.

I was on a submarine and had no problems with the work away from friends and family... although, there will be alot less people on the truck, but still tight quarters.:biggrin_25519:
